Sealife Mike just posted a note at the C-Dog site about a Catalina gathering in August, 2004.

Any of you Nor'Westers up for the long haul? Dana loves Catalina, and my brother who lives down there would probably be up for the fishing trip.

If so, I could put up (and put up with) as many of you as are interested at my place in Northern CA on your way down and/or back up.

Da Nag,

It would be great to get some more representation from No Cal, and the Pacific Northwest. If you make the long trip you won't be disappointed.

If I can answer any questions let me know.

Ron

Would you believe that Carol and I actually discussed going to Catalina for that gathering the evening before Bill posted thread? (I actually got stuck at work having more days off in August than I anticipated......bummer huh? :smilep ).
At any rate after some discussion we decided that we probably would not get down to Catalina this year.

We'll be taking Squidward down from NorCal for part of August, kids will be in Catalina Island camp so wifey and I will be free to have some fun. Can anyone come to this get together?

Hi again Rokjok-
Anyone is welcome to join us at Catalina.
This year we will be having a fishing tournamint at San Clemente Island, depending on the Navy's schedule, possibly on Wednesday, August 18.
Shaping up to be another grand trip to the Isthmas of Catalina.

I second that welcome to you NorthWesterners! How about some Alaskan C-Brats too?? I thought you tough guys were use to long range fishing trips! As to fishing San Clemente Island Roger, I was counting on the Navy depth charges to provide my catch for the day! Say, maybe someone with a 25 footer can become a floating hotel to overnight at San Clemente Island for those with just a 16 foot C-Dory! At least a floating bar, since C-Pup's ice box is so small in size!

As host of the Catalina Adventure let me add my official invitation to the fourth annual running of this great event. If you've never visited Catalina Island in the summer, well, does "Adventure In Paradise" ring any bells?

It's a week of swimming, diving, fishing, and cruising in the crystal clear waters of Catalina. You're snug and safe 26 miles from the mainland in Isthmus Cove, tied to a mooring that's yours for the week. And this year, our very own fishing expert, Roger (Fishtales) is leading an expedition to San Clemente Island, some 30 miles further out, for a fantastic day of fishing.

So, check us out on the C-DOG site under Gatherings, for more info and sign-up.

Sealife Mike and the other Californians on this thread, I just noticed what you'd written and wanted to thank you for your warm invitation to join the Catalina bunch.

Sounds like the trip of a lifetime. Have a wonderful time.

Leaving this weekend for Catalina. Looks like we'll have 11 - 12 boats. Will do some diving, fishing and just general relaxing. Wednesday we'll be going out to Santa Barbara Island- another 30 miles out to sea, for some awsome diving and fishing.

Have a great time, Roger - Dana and I will make it down there one of these days, just wasn't in the cards this year. She's had the itch for Catalina for a couple years...
