This is a proposal for a CBGT in Anacortes for the weekend following the Friday Harbor CBGT. This CBGT will run concurrently with TrawlerFest in Anacortes, so you'll be able to cruise the docks and check out the big boats while also seeing what the many vendors will have on display for you.

I've made arrangements with the harbormaster at Cap Sante for up to a dozen small slips, and if we need more we can get them. As with other CBGTs there will be a dinner Friday night at a restaurant within walking distance of the marina. Saturday night we'll have a potluck at the Anacortes Yacht Club, and Sunday morning a group breakfast.

The best part of this is that you'll be able to spend the week cruising the San Juans, maybe even the Gulf Islands, after the Friday Harbor CBGT, before heading to Anacortes for the ending CBGT. If you don't have sufficient time available to go to both CBGTs you will have a choice of which one to attend.

Bill or Mike, would you please set this as an announcement and create a signup form so we can see how much interest there is?

This one's on the books.

Warren,

Thank you for setting up the Anacortes CBGT. We've stayed at the Cap Sante Marina. Nice facilities. Looking forward to going there after the Friday Harbor CBGT.

Warren - I am going to try and make this gathering as well as the Friday Harbor one the week before. Both will be weather dependent because I will be coming up by boat.

My goal for next year is to make all the CBGT’s in the Northwest.

Hope to see you at the Seattle Boat Show Gathering.

Well, we don't have a boat yet, but my wife and I are planning to spend the summer in the PacNW looking at boats. We also hope to visit both C-Dory gatherings (Friday & Anacortes), as well as attend TrawlerFest.

We won't need dock space, but would like to pick some brains and see some CD's  ......

Excellent -- would you mind registering at the Event Signup (top menu bar) so I don't forget?

Thanks,
Warren

P.S. Be good to register with the Friday Harbor CBGT also...

Done & did!

We're looking forward to meeting everyone in one of our favorite places.

BTW, anyone been here?

We visited in 2001 and can affirm that they have great salmon. :smilep

Haven't been there but then again, I have bought salmon since I bought my boat! Once you're out here for the summer and have a boat, you won't need to buy salmon, you can catch it. Now the fact that I haven't bought salmon doesn't mean I haven't paid for it. I figure it runs me about $200/lb when I catch it myself but fish that expensive has to taste great.

Warren,
Kathy and I will be there. will not need a slip as I think we can do this one at 20mpg and save money for the food.

So I called Cap Sante to see if we need to make individual reservations and they said no, that the "wheels are already in motion" and a block of slips will be available.

Warren, are you the man organizing the slips? If so, C-Dancer would like one please. I'm sure you'll let us know the details as they become available.

Yes, the wheels are in motion, thanks to some organizing I did before I left and also thanks to some help from Cary (Auklet). When I get back to Anacortes about 3/15 I will go down to the dock office and fill out the paperwork they asked for. Or maybe Cary will beat me down there and get it set up earlier. One way or another we will have it set up.

Right now the plan is to have a Friday group dinner at either Village Pizza or Gere-A-Deli, depending on some information yet to be obtained. For the Saturday potluck my plan is to use the Anacortes Yacht club building. We have yet to pick a Sunday breakfast place. How do those of you who have signed up feel about those options?

Warren,

Calico Cupboard is always fun and yummy. Don't know if they could handle our size group unless they have a back room.

How's the weather in Baja?

The weather here has been sunny and in the 80s. It was 104 crossing the interior near Ciduad Constitution (sp?) but once we got back to the shore it was bliss once more!

Warren,
I signed up for this one. I hope you still have room for one more boat.

Cap Sante is a big marina. As with Friday Harbor, I don't think there is any reasonable limit on the number of boats it will accommodate.

I'm back from Mexico finally, and yesterday I went down to the Cap Sante Marina office to get the official ball rolling for the CBGT slips (they have known about the CBGT unofficially for some time now.)

I have a form here that I need to fill out for them so they will have the info at hand for assigning slips ahead of time and for ease of checking each one of you in. Therefore, I need each of you to email me (please don't PM -- too hard to manage large numbers of messages) with the following information:

1. Captain's name, address and phone number
2. Vessel name and registration number
3. Vessel make and model
4. Vessel OVERALL LENGTH and beam (with outboards, etc.)
5. Date of arrival
6. Expected time of arrival
7. length of stay

You will need to make individual arrangements to pay the marina office for your slip. It will be $16.90 per day for up to 26 feet. Electricity is $4.00 per day and trailer storage is $5.00 a day.

Please send me this info soon so I don't have to pursue you for it!
