Hey Brats, it's time to think about Opening Day at Lopez. Fred and I will be the dudes in charge of the leg work, calling, and all that other stuff that I always depended on Fireman Dave to do.

So let's chat this gig up. I'm not even sure when the date is but I'll call Lopez and beg for free moorage. And as a courtesy to our official Brat Poob, let's sprinkle this thread with lots of references to beer and our little plastic friends.

Opening Weekend is May 6 and May 7, 2005. This has become an annual event for the NW C-Brats, and is rated as a "must-do" by those who were there in previous years.

Added to Calendar and Signup List posted, 2/10/05

Susan E. and crew will be glad to attend the opening. i assume that the reverne dave will be nameing and unnameing the new crop of Dorys. the sooner we have a date the better chance i have of getting off work that friday. I hope there will be a pot luck dinner one night. And id there is enough interst I would like to host a c-dory only fishing/crab derby No cash prizes but every entry has to give up a lure of his or her's chioce to be divided into 1st 2nd 3rd place prizes.

Glad to see you and Fred taking charge. Lopez has always been on opening week-end of the NW boating season. Not entirely sure when that is or how the date is traditionally set. But I bet they know at the Islander on Lopez.

April 30- May 2 was the week-end last year I think.

Doubtful that Pat or I will have the new 25 by then. Not even sure if we will still have a boat at all then. This presents a problem. If this indeed does happen, we need to get DA BEER there. And maybe even us'uns too.

I reserved 16 slips for the 6th and 7th. We should find out pretty soon how much interest there is so if we need more we can call to reserve. One thing nice about Lopez, if you don't have a boat you can still come and stay at the resort.
Think about all the beer David and Pat can bring if they come by beer truck instead of by boat.

Fred

I'd be up for the weekend of the 7th...Joyce will probably come with. We could provide passage for people and/or beer (especially beer... I mean people).

We are going to have to play this by beer. I mean ear.

Need to call Jeff M at C-Dory and find out how the trade-in timing with the new boat delivery can be co-ordinated to not leave me Boat-Less on Guemes. Sorry Les. There may be two of us. Or three. Or even four.

About 3 weeks ago, Fred contacted me about this gathering, and after checking the dates of the "opening weekend of boating season", which is when we've always had this gathering, I found that AGAIN this weekend is not a good one for me. I'm glad to see that Fred and Brock are stepping up to the plate and getting this one together. Thanks, Fred and Brock!

Work Release would be at this fun gathering again. This was my first c-brat gathering last year and the welcome mat was out, Great food, Great People, and GREAT BEER!

Dave, I was really looking forward to you being there to say good words over Work Release, since she didn't have her named on last year. Sorry you won't be there, but I will wait till we can meet at the next gathering.

The Derby sounds fun, Ling Cod season was open last year I believe.

Jim, Work Release

Wow, throw up an idea and just watch the response! And a porta-potti isn't even needed.

Fred, beery good job reserving those sweet 16 spots. Reverend Dave, sorry you can't make this gig. It is, after all, your creation.

Geez !! Seems like we are out of step here... most of the dates for the get togethers are on my wrong weekend, ala Dave S. opening weekend we will be flying up to Alaska ...... darn darn darn

Dear Mr. Catman:

Is this event ready to be moved to the proper forum (Institutional Control, my butt), added to the Calendar, Dated, Dubbed, and stuck on the Event List and Signup Sheet list?

How about the Blakely Blast? Is it ready for immortality, too?

Catman can answer #1, but its a big affirmative to Blakely for July 15, 16 & 17 and it is time to call Norma at (360)-375-6121 to reserve a slip.

Tyboo, yes, I agree that we need more rigid control around here. And we can start by moving the Lopez thread to wherever Administration insists it must go.

OK CMº. The Lopez deal is official, and has been moved to the Cruises forum. I hope I did the title edit right, or Bill SrP will dork out. Sometime this evening I'll try to get it added to the signup list list.

On your next message post, try holding down the Alt key while typing 0 1 8 6 on the numeric keypad. Then let go of the Alt key. You'll be amazedº.

OK CM - you are the Cruise Director, so start directing.

You don't have to make the little zeroes if you don't want to. I think you ought to, but that's just my 2¢.
