01/27 - 01/29 - Seattle Boat Show 2017

I need to start planning the boat show.

The first step is pick a weekend . I propose the potluck be January 28th, 2017. This is because Saturday feb 4th is the last day of the boat show,

The Potluck will be at the silver cloud on lake union like last year, in the same room. Once I finalize the weekend then i will make the reservations. I will also ask the hotel to reserve a block of rooms at the boat show rate.

Remember this silver cloud lake union has free parking. and free shuttle to the boat show. I believe last year they had a shuttle to the airport.

If anyone has any suggestions or ideas for the potluck let me know.

Last year someone suggested we try to plan a mid week lunch for those retired folks to meet and chat. I will call around for a lunch meeting place. i assume for a weds Feb 1st noon lunch .

thanks

WOW, is it that time already. I can't believe 2 0 1 6 is 3/4 over already and it's time for the boat show already.

Just a thought on the mid week thing. If it wasn't actually on Wed but maybe on Thursday, maybe it would tie in to the weekend for those who are traveling from farther away. (Thurs lunch/visit time then Fri boat show, and CBGT on the weekend).

Dates sound good Susan. We would not likely make a mid week lunch but should be there for the weekend gathering of course.

Greg

It looks like I have a date for the boat show so if we are sure of the date of the boat show we can get the signup and announcement set up before she can change her mind.

So are we all good with the dates Susan suggested?

Great to see your post Susan. Hope "poor Tom" recovers soon - - I am sure you are taking good care of him although I suspect if he rang a bell - ala the video - it would only happen once.

For those of us that are weather wimps and have put the boat away until the sun shines again (maybe sometime in May for those of us on the shady side of the Olympic Peninsula), seeing your post about the SBS C-Brat Gathering gives me something to eagerly look forward to ...only about 100 days to go.

Please count us in......we will sign-up PDQ once the sheet is up (thanks Mike!).

Thanks again for running w/ this stuff Susan.

Take care all,
Dan, Tanya, and Hannah the non-boating dog

Any opposed, time to say Aiya, aye or haya here soon.

Thanks Susan, looks like you have free reign, or is that free rain

Mike, Hope we see you there.

Dan, Good to see you here.

IT Is official

We have the Lakeview Lobby Room at the Lake union Silver Cloud hotel, for our potluck, as last year. The date is Saturday January 28th. We have the room from 4pm to 8pm. We can stay after 9pm as long as the noise is low. I suggest the pot luck begin at 5pm. This gives people time to set up, cook, grab a cup of coffee. The lake view lobby has plenty of counter space , outlets for cooking and two sinks. We will have coffee and tea service .

I will be applying for a one day, alcohol permit with the city. so Bring some beer and Wine.

As last year, parking for the pot luck is free. Just check in at the desk.

We did not get a special discount for the roos . Just the normal "boat show" discount is available to us.

Why the Silver Cloud at Lake union? and not down town Silver Cloud?

Price and free parking and free shuttle

I do suggest that friday any of those you would like to Join Tom and I, there is a new Mexican restaurant across the street from the hotel. It is in the old Hooters spot. the restaurant is called El Chupacabra. we can make a reservation for 10-30 people. I will be talking to the manager. and making sure we can have them split the check

Go Susan, You're the Lady. Thanks you for your effort. Looking forward to seeing the Brats again. I am planning on being there, and if anyone wants to share a room, I'd be open to that. PM me if that might work for you.

Pam and I are planning to attend. This sounds like fun.
I am thinking we need to bring our own table ware as well. We will be spending the night as well.
