    Pain free insulation solution

Do you guys have any idea how much weight you added to your boats by spraying the cabin with this stuff? What's the density of this material once it cures?

My wife and I had the pleasure of being aboard the Dive Cat for a nice cruise around San Diego Bay. Although the morning was a little gloomy, the sun finally broke through in the early afternoon. There were many sail boats outs and we enjoyed their graceful presence and colorful sails. We...

Me too! :D Bob, doesn't the engine which drives the compressor have oil in it? Couldn't you put a remote oil cooler on it so it doesn't run so hot? But I think what you are thinking is probably the better fix as it addresses the hot exhaust tube directly. I hope you get it figured out. Also ...

Bob, Have you thought about putting a radiator on the compressor? I would imagine that with a pump you could easily circulate the scaldingly hot oil through a radiator and cool it down significantly before returning it to the compressor. Not sure if this would work or not but its a thought. Paul

Dang ... I knew I would miss this opportunity. I changed my email address a few months back and didn't update anything here. And we purchased some property which really sets back the possibility of buying a TC255 anytime soon. I'd still like to check it out one day - perhaps you can let me...

Absolutely, count me in :) The cover is aluminum, right? Won't the stainless hinges cause corrosion from the dissimilar metals? Or are you going to isolate them with some plasitc/rubber/etc? Slots in the swim step may be nice if the water likes to go above it, also serves well as fin...

How thick is the aluminum cover you have on the transom? Are you worried about it denting when the tanks are on them? I'm imagining that as you pivot/swing over into the cockpit that some (most?) of the weight will be placed on the tanks, depending on how low you wear your tanks. This is...

Very nice Scaley ... the swim step between the engine brackets looks great as a platform for diving. And I hear ya on the water rinse of gear, especially if you plan on staying out for a few days like you do; a nice rinse off is just the thing you need :) Can't wait to see how the dive ladder...

Scaley, PM Sent. Compresor looks great back there! Got any pictures of the dive ladder? Paul

Cygnet - thanks for the pictures, she's a beauty alright. I can't wait to see the swim step/dive ladder pictures Jeff promised. And Scaley .... heck ya I'm interested! :D Let me know when the launch is and I'll be sure to get up there for the christening - I can't wait to check it out...

Thanks guys, those pictures help a lot. Is there going to be a transom bench seat (step) like in the TC24? I would guess it to be an option, but not having one would probably keep the cockpit more open. I'm getting a bit of drool going on here, I can't wait to see those pictures Jeff! :D

Just wanted to see how dive gear could be layed out in the cockpit with the dive ladder option (I'm not sure if you have one or not), especially since we almost always dive doubles. Also wanted to see how easy it may be to enter the boat with all the gear on, where we could put the tanks and...

I know this is off-topic, but do you guys (katkt & TWO-DAWGS) have pictures of your TomCat 24? Especially of the cockpit/transom area.

Jeff - thanks, I can't wait to see them. Can I ask if there is a possibility of making a transom door which coincides with the dive ladder placement? :) In my opinion, this would be the best method for boarding the boat with heavy equipment on since we're mostly technical divers with lots of...

Dave, Can you point me to the correct link where there are pictures of the swim/dive ladder? The link I was looking at is here: http://www.c-dory.com/24%20price.htm and there are no images, just text of the available options. Thanks, Paul

Thanks Luna - I already went through their website and have been watching the threads here as well as on the MSN Owner's Group and have been hungerily devouring any pictures which goes up :) The website only states that a swim step/dive ladder is an option but does not mention anything about...

This little cat sounds pretty darn good. Does anyone have information on how the dive platform/dive ladder will be done? My main question is whether they can cut a 'door' through the transom so you can walk stratigh through into the cockpit instead of carrying yourself over the transom. With...

    TC 25 Update

Thanks for the update Scaley ... I've been watching this thread with lots of anticipation over the last few months. Are we still on for a dive once you get your TC25? :) Paul

    Glacier Bay vs Tomcat 24/25

Thanks for that information! That clarifies a lot of things, especially how the TC's can take a lot of passengers, I must have misread the catalog. And Fishtales - I've heard good things about the Peace, but we don't head up that way much anymore since we live in San Diego. But we'll keep it...

    Glacier Bay vs Tomcat 24/25

Eight passengers with enough dive gear for six? That sounds like more people than I would ever have. I guess it didn't have problems getting up on plane with all that weight, something I was concerned about. Also I definitely want something that is easily trailered since I don't want to incur...
