    70/75 vs. 90hp on 22 Cruiser?

This question is perhaps not as technical as people are making it. I've got a 70HP Tohatsu on my 22 angler and would have to say you should go for at least a 90. I could care less about eeking out another two MPH. I've got it pitched right, and ya I can do 30 mph when conditions are good...

Nice Job Wayne. Sounds like a great day. I think i'm going to take Friday off and fish off Westpoint. Sure sounds like the silvers are in early. Those chums are fun to catch. They are real strong when they are fresh like that. We'll see if I can scare anything up. I'll post a message...

    Fishing Puget Sound

I read in the newspaper that people are supposedly getting some silvers out there. Anyone been out for any yet? It seems early, but I might give it a shot this weekend. I think I'll head out of Shilshole and try Wespoint or maybe toward Edmonds a bit. Might try to bring my diving equipment...

Marietta, A friend of mine is interested in your boat. I'm just wondering... Is that just a single 50 HP motor on that? Thanks. Ross

Well good to hear you got out both days Wayne, that's die-hard. I think we can say that overall it hasn't been a great season. I'm heading out on Saturday, gonna fish down south near Shilshole again. Seems the few that are around, are down south for whatever reason. Would love to go razor...

    Fishing Puget Sound

Put in at Shilshole on Sunday. Usually I would have fished over by West Point, but since the only boats out were right in front of Shilshole, we fished there. Ended up catching two silvers, about 7 and wight pounds. We actually lost four others. Had two leaders break. Had two that pulled of...

    Fishing Puget Sound

I'm gonna try down by Westpoint just north of Elliott Bay this weekend. According to the creel counts from the weekend, it looks like more fish were caught down there than up north. I think there are still fish out there, and that we should have at least two more weekends with good numbers of...

    Fishing Puget Sound

Hi All, Seems like maybe the rain brought a lot of fish up the river. Fished Sunday, with mediocre success. We got one small silver, about 4 lbs, and that was it. It was cold and rainy out there, and they wouldn't let us fish Brown's bay because of the helicopter crash. There were several...

    Fishing Puget Sound

Hey Roger. We were actually south of shipwreck, out in the middle of the channel west of Browns Bay, a bit south of Possession. Our latitude was around 51.6 minutes on the GPS. That was kind of where we centered for most of the weekend. The tides were small, but we fished closer to the east...

    Fishing Puget Sound

Well we did the derby thing this weekend. 12 fish for the weekend. The fish were definitely there. We limited both days with three people on board, although our biggest fish was only 9.21 lbs. It's surprising to me that we talked to a lot of people that got no fish. We were fishing white or...

    Fishing Puget Sound

I'm heading out tonight for the derby this weekend. Sounds like Roger and Wayne are in the 10% category. Nice job guys. My uncle has been averaging about two fish per day all week, except for Monday. He's been hanging right around the shipwreck. I guess the fish are still out at Seiku...

    Fishing Puget Sound

Fished Saturday, and purchased an Edmonds Coho Derby ticket. Turned out to be a waste of loot. We fished all day, and got one pink, and one real small silver. We fished West Point in the morning. Got the one pink, and a couple shaker backmouths. Ran the boat over to Point-No-Point, where...

    Fishing Puget Sound

Weird weekend of fishing for us. Didn't get out until Sunday morning. We fished West Point Sunday morning. Released four kings. One was about 25 lbs that my wife caught. That one hurt. I guess it kind of makes me wonder if WDFW shouldn't have kept that Elliot Bay fishery open. Seems to me...

    Fishing Puget Sound

Sounds like it's a little slow out there. Well maybe they will be in this weekend. I'm thinking of heading out to the Port Townsend area. Anyone have any suggestions on where to fish there? Sekiu is a little far for me, but I wanted to get out to where the silvers are. I wonder if that's...

    Fishing Puget Sound

Hey All, Gary. On the smoking. My recipe probably doesn't do a great job of preserving the fish, as there isn't much salt, but I vacuum seal and freeze them anyway. My dad uses a similar recipe to yours, but I prefer a little sweeter, more marinated style. We only fished Saturday. Launched...

    Fishing Puget Sound

Guess the silvers just aren't in yet. Sure hope they make it, but I'm starting to get concerned. Thanks for the update Wayne. I've been slaveing away at the orifice all week. Glad to hear someone has gotten out there to do some damage. I probably saw you last week out near shipwreck. I saw...

    Fishing Puget Sound

Sounds like nobody did well on the silvers, and the creel counts on WDFW's site showed hardly any silvers. I hope they are just late, and that this isn't an indicator of what's to come. Wife is fine, just a bit embarassed. Tough to blame the captain since the motor was off at the time. :-)...

    Fishing Puget Sound

Fished shipwreck last weekend. Didn't start real early Saturday or Sunday. We were trying to target silvers, but ended up catching 10 pinks, and no silvers. Roger. I tried hailing both you and Wayne, on Saturday and Sunday, but couldn't reach anyone. Ended up chatting with Starcraft Tom for...

Sorry Roger. I had to work today, wish I was out there with you. Sounds like you had a good day of fishing. I'll give both you and Wayne a shout on the VHF tomorrow morning. Looks like we can't complain about the weather. Catch you guys tomorrow. Ross
