Here we go again - Yamaha 9.9 verse Suzuki 9.9

Both are great engines. Sometime you have to go with what's available etc.... I have looked in Canada and Alaska and Suzuki is well represented so I don't see an issue. Some year we all have to head off to Canada and maybe do some of the inside passage. Alaska is on my list one day:-) I'm...

Here we go again - Yamaha 9.9 verse Suzuki 9.9

Well, I did have Yamaha's spec'd for the new boat. After talking directly with NMI, the builder they are having issues getting Yamaha engines and parts. Have been for some time. I was told they can't even get a kicker until after my build would be done. Long story. Have had some great talks...

Tinted windows - Pros and Cons

Sounds like a great idea. We have tinted windows in our camper and would not have it any other way. Thanks for the input. Kirk

Tinted windows - Pros and Cons

Seems like every time I do a search I get a list of hundreds of items and you have to sift through it all to find what you actually searched for... it's a mix of items and most not what you typed in. Sounds like user error on my part. I will try what you suggest and see what comes up. But thank...

Tinted windows - Pros and Cons

The side window but sounds like both of you liked them tinted on the back as well. Wondering how dark they are on a cloudy day. Gary, I bet you know the answer:-) Thanks guys, really appreciate your time.

Tinted windows - Pros and Cons

Hello Brats..Happy Fall:-) Thinking about getting the windows tinted on our Venture 23. Thinking just the side windows. Obviously not the fronts. Not sure on the back windows. May thinking the backs don't need it. Most of the distracting sun would be coming from there sides. IMO. Any...

Here we go again - Yamaha 9.9 verse Suzuki 9.9

It's easy to get caught up in the "am I buying the right stuff" with a new boat. We feel very blessed that we are able to do this and just can't wait:-) April is a long time. Happy sailing. Kirk

Here we go again - Yamaha 9.9 verse Suzuki 9.9

You'd think there would be a ton of data and reviews on outboards. It's pretty limited. I know you can't really go wrong with any of these motors these days. It's a big decision and of course you want to make the best choice for you and your intended use. I raced motorcycles for 30 years. I...

Here we go again - Yamaha 9.9 verse Suzuki 9.9

C-Sharp (Steve) and I were discussing kicker motors the other day. Steve is going all Suzuki on his 23 and we are going all Yamaha. Then I learned the Yamaha 9.9 is carb and not EFi. Now I'm fine with a carb, I know the pitfalls. I know the maintenance issues. I suppose I could run a Yamaha...

New security and info for your boat...... via your phone

https://sirenmarine.com Very cool. Seems kinda pricey but looks like a great way to keep an eye on your boat if you're not around. If not appropriate to post here please delete.

Thought this was a little helpful.....

Yeah, I thought that was interesting as well. I like the 140 a lot. But we have chosen to go with the Yamaha 150 and a Yamaha 9.9 kicker. yes, it's heavier. I don't want it for top speed in a C-Dory obviously. I like the idea of lower RPM running. Meaning maybe a little more quieter than a 140...

Yep.. another Permatrim question and the Venture 23

Good info.... maybe even going with little more chain at the windless could help balance as well. Might be good reason "for" the Permatrim. It's very cool how C-Dory owners from around the country can chat with each other and learn from other's experiences. Priceless:-)

Yep.. another Permatrim question and the Venture 23

Interesting... so good to hear other views. Jennykatz... that seem like a lot of chain. That research will be coming up. But I can see the extra weight up front possibly being a positive. We are going with the 150 and 9.9 Yamaha's. So power won't be an issue. I need to research the size...
