    How much weight is safe?

Too much.. Trust me, you can overload it. Lets just say I had to pull the boat back out of the water after the first attempted launch because I couldn't get her to float. Read " Saltwater filled the motor well"..... 3 decent sized guys with a weeks worth of food, gear, maybe some beer.... We...

    How much weight is safe?

There are some great folks on here that have done some amazing adventures and I'm sure will fill you in with better specifics. I can without a doubt tell you there is a limit. On my run out to Nootka, I was there. It.. Was ..Not ..Fun.. I made the 2 other passengers face plant in the front...

    Nootka Sound BC Trip

Mark, Wife and I are backpackers, often in a single wall tipi playing the ventilation game, so we're onboard with the later sleeping arrangement as well! The appeal of a little sound deadening and some insulation are appealing though...Thanks for all the input to consider! Chromer, Thanks...

    Balsa Core Delamination

Not sure if you're talking about the inspection hatch I installed, or the smaller plug that's used to fill in the foam. The plug sits right under where my porta potty sits. The inspection hatch is on the raised surface just as you enter the berth. The lower area on a 22 cruiser has so little...

    Nootka Sound BC Trip

Mark, It's always amazing how far off the beaten path you and Limpet have traveled! I'm flipping back though your photos of mods and was curious how well your insulation coating actually helped. Would you do it again? R/ John Scallywag

    Install fresh water wash down

Like Colby mentioned, with my washdown pump(3.5 GPM) it'd take 5.7 Minutes of running to drain my tank. I personally don't drink or cook with the water from my tank and if needed could filter it, so running a line to my washdown for end of the day cleaning is on my to do list as well. Bob...

    Nootka Sound BC Trip

Peter, That sounds like an amazing trip! Where are you planning to jump off from? Are you taking the kayaks on the boat like you did in your Atlin Lake trip? Awesome photos in your album buy the way! P.S. We always eat good and I'm always willing to share the fishing spots! Safe travels...

    Install fresh water wash down

    - With a 1 out of 10 level, you can stick a suction hose down the fill port then pull it back out when your done! - With a 2 out of 10, the T-should work just fine, however you're adding another failure spot for water to leak inside the cabin. Just something to monitor if you choose to go that...

    Nootka Sound BC Trip

The cabin was awesome. It has 4 bedroom, nice bath, ice makers, generators, the whole shebang. Another guy (who actually takes time to make good videos and has a drone) caught some awesome footage of the cabin. https://youtu.be/6vGMqe3fIlI We took the ferry out of Anacortes to Sidney BC...

    Nootka Sound BC Trip

I just dropped a video from my 2019 trip to Nootka Sound BC, where we stayed at a floating cabin in the middle of Bligh Island for a week. I figured a few of you may have it on your 2021 tentative trip plans. https://youtu.be/vuNx-3bXG1w I wish I would have had my v-berth cut out then, we...

    Repairs and upgrades for Hammerhead

Clay, I'm curious what the pricing is on the balsa. Carbon balsa is about $500 delivered for 7 sheets. I ordered 1708 10 yards and some CSM(amazon order). I may try some of the West Systems Episize just to play around, but the price is likely not worth it.... R/ John Scallywag

    Repairs and upgrades for Hammerhead

Holy Holes Batman!! Hope your cutout sections show only good things! What diameter holes did you drill? Are they large enough to probe and check for dry rot? Only the area around my water tank where the screw holes were showed any real sign of moisture. The rest was just dry brittle...

    Fuel tank vents

I feel like a broken record lately. This is yet another topic Sunbeam has hit on for a modification. http://www.c-brats.com/viewtopic.php?t= ... c&start=45 I think the whole thread should be required reading for all us Brats! Shoot, I may re-read the whole thing tomorrow. Redoing lazzerett...

    Balsa Core Delamination

In my search for core replacement I found this. https://www.carbon-core.com/applications/marine/ My plan as of now is replacing the Balsa with Balsa. A lot of research across the web has lead me to this point even with comment like above. I haven't pulled the trigger yet, but I'm close...

How tall is a 2004 22' Cruiser on an EZ loader?

It varies. My 2008 with short radar arch and radar mounted can fit in my 10' garage door, barely... R/ John Scallywag

    Balsa Core Delamination

Clay, Thanks! The brass strip screws from my observation have not penetrated the hull so I don't think they're a problem. As far as the coring, it looks like everything built up in the v-berth got some coring for strength. Hopefully your foam pulling party will go as easy as mine went! That's...

    Balsa Core Delamination

Bob, Thanks for adding the link! I'm going to try this "reply with quote" thing. If I botch it, the responses are below! -Maybe is the best answer I have here. I have pulled and re-bedded the brass strip but when it was out it showed no indication of push through..The anchor locker is dry...

    Balsa Core Delamination

I just dropped a couple more videos. One that covers a little detail about the raised deck to give a visual to Bobs response to Jim. (towards the end of the video) One details my installation of V-Berth hatches and foam removal. Enjoy. Merry Christmas to Everyone. R/ John
