We're looking for our next adventure vessel. Anybody out there in Bratland have a Tomcat they wish to sell? must have a rear helm station

search ended, we just added a tomcat to the family. we're just telling our mooching fishing bum friends that we're just upgrading the electronics on the 22', they'll figured out something is different when we get to the dock :)

Wow, that was a pretty short search

Congratulations, having moved from a 22 cruiser to a TomCat myself, I can say that you going to love the new ride.
Curious to know what you got and how your new boat is set up?

we had our eye on the one at master marine when we put the 22' on sale. finally worked out a deal. How's the Merlin doing?
Anymore about all we do is salt water fishing & crabbing with a bunch of degenerate bums & grandkids we're training to be degenerate bums, the new ride will a much better fishing tool in many ways.

Nice boat. I believe those Mercury are the lightest and biggest displacement 150HP available. I’d love to hear your thought and stats on those after you get a few outings.

thanks Mike. I thought about Green~C but the boat already has a name on the side,, "TomKat"
I had an opportunity to run a boat at my summer job that had twin Verados, I sure liked them, smooth, quite, very nice. I also had the opportunity to run some 30' C-Dory cats but no cats with verados...I'm looking forward to the new ride

Yeah on those Mercs. They have come a long ways since their Force outboards on Bayliner days. The kid from work who takes me fishing sometimes has a new one on his boat. Nice dipsticks, too.

Merlin is a getting a few PM items taken care of in preparation for the Florida trip later this year. After that, we’ll see how eager I am to tear into the outboard conversion. Might wait a bit still.

Congrats on your new purchase! I am sure you will enjoy the TomCat ride as we have. I see in the pics that your new ride has a heavy duty type pot puller mounted. I have been looking at installing one on our TomCat and really like to get some pics of your boats mounting brackets around the floor and gunwale.

thanks, I'll get you some pictures when we take delivery....when you get your pot puller rigged up you'll have to come up to Coos Bay and try it out.... there are a lot of folks from Nor Cal that spends months up here crabbing.

Thanks Ken I would really appreciate that. We come to Coos Bay fairly often for crabbing and clamming. That also where we had our bottom paint applied.
We have been using one of the pullers that mount to a scotty down rigger mount and its just hard to keep the pots from banging the side of the boat.

Rick, I had a similar problem with pots hitting the side of the boat when using my Scotty pot puller. I remedied that by buying a davit kit from Discovery Bay marine gerr. Its a schedule 40 aluminum 2 piece davit with mounting brackets. I had an aluminum plate welded ant an angle aiming toward the pully and mounted my Scotty pot puller to that after I removed the boom from the puller. So basically what you end up with is a nucklehead that you wrap the line around and it pulls the pot as long as you keep light tension on it. No more banging the pots against the boat and no more bending over while pulling the pot. Works great at a less than 1/2 the price of a factory electric unit sold for that purpose.
