    Fuel Gauge

When my gauge shows 3/4 full the tank is actually about half full. It's consistent and not a problem as long as you remember to compensate. So where is the sending unit and how does one access it? If you can pull the unit and bend the float arm to correct the problem, I might give it a try. ??

    R25 Air Conditioning

Thanks for the tip. While at the boat this weekend I sealed the connection between the air conditioner fan output and the diffuser grill with gorilla tape as you suggested. A better solution would be to have a diffuser grill that fits the fan output better. The shape of the fan output just...

    R25 Air Conditioning

After reading your post I checked my Air Conditioner and sure enough, I have the same situation. So, what's the easiest way to line up the air duct and correct this problem? (thanks for the heads up!)

    R-25 propeller Question

Anyone know what size and pitch propeller is used on the R-25? (Yanmar 110 HP). Stamped on the forward end of the hub is "1-888-661-ACME" which is just the phone number of ACME propeller company. Probably on the other end of the hub, under the prop nut, is stamped the size and pitch but I...

    Cummins QSD 150 hp / R-25

OK, now I'm confused. The comments directly above are for an R-25 with the Yanmar 110 hp engine. Max rpm = 3200. It hits 3200 at full throttle, so the prop seems to be pitched about right. Are your comments for a Cummins 150 hp powered R-25? We've been discussing hp vs speed of various...

    Cummins QSD 150 hp / R-25

During the sea trials the R-25 did about 6.25 knots at 1800 rpm which on the Yanmar engine data sheet shows 20 HP and about 1 gal/hr. That gives just over 6 nautical miles per gallon, Not bad mileage but s - l - o - w . Most of my previous experience has been with sail, so I'm acclimated to...

    Cummins QSD 150 hp / R-25

Thanks for the additional background. I'll have to get a copy of that David Gerr book. It looks like something dramatic occurs with the R-25 at around 7 to 8 knots (8 to 9 mph). If I understand what you say, then above that speed it's in a semidisplacement mode but not yet on plane until...

    Cummins QSD 150 hp / R-25

Lots of data vs RPM for the Yanmar 110 HP on an R-25.

    Cummins QSD 150 hp / R-25

Another plot for discussion. I took some data points last summer while running Snug Tug at various speeds, full fuel, full water, three people on board but not fully loaded with cruising gear. (top speed with cruising gear added might be another mph or two so slower) Below is a plot of speed...

    Newbee on-line

Thanks to all for the welcome to the forum. On the question of the passage through Hell Gate: No problem at all. Went through at 10-11 knots boat speed which gave us 14+ knots GPS speed with the current in our direction. Lots of eddys and standing waves of 2 to 3 feet so it felt a bit like...

    Hull Number

Thanks. Looks like I'm hull #25.

    Hull Number

OK, time for a dumb question: How do I know what my hull number is? (part of the Hull Identification Number?) The R-25 was purchased in June 2007. I'm just curious as to how early in the production run it was made.

Got a Ranger 25 in June 2007 -- love it. Never bothered to look around the internet for other owners until now. Finally looked into the C-Brats site from the Ranger Tugs website today. Great resource! All the issues I've been dealing with are well covered by others who have given it even...
