The Saralin was purchased last week by Chuck and Eloise Pratt from Key West, FL. She always seemed happy in the lower Keys, so this will be a great home for her! I really enjoyed meeting the new owners and wish them the very best.
I purchased the Saralin new in December of 2001 from Three Rivers Marina in Crystal River, FL. I have owned her all but about two of those years when I sold and repurchased from the same individual. I replaced the original 80 hp Yamaha in 2011 with a 115 Yamaha. I thought she ran very well with...
It just arrived this week and will be mounted by Friday. Finally ready to be back on the water, albeit a bit faster . . .
Thanks for these inputs -
John (Saralin)
Oh yea, I also cut away the foam under the inspection port at the entrance to the V-berth. The floor is dry and there is no indicaion of water. Its coming from someplace else. I replaced all the fresh water hoses and clamps. It is coming in through rain water - I'm convinced. Now, I need...
I wanted to let the C-Brats know about the great help I received on a post from April 28 (Water in Hull). I was able to do some work on the Saralin over the weekend. The Rub Rail job was a big one, but it is done and looks great. Joe (Sea Wolf) was particularly helpful. I also wanted to...
I'm going to get busy on this over the weekend. I will let you all know what I find, because I will certainly need some more advice. But, I do feel better about the project.
Regarding the rub rail. I wanted to seek a new rub rail that was larger (much larger) than the current one. I know...
I really appreciate all the suggestions. I don't know why my F80 failed at 850 hours. Maybe I could have taken better care of it? Changing to another brand isn't an option. My good friend sells Yamaha. I bring him a little business, he brings me a lot of business.
Now the real problem -...
I'm re-powering the Saralin. My former outboard was a 2002 F80 Yamaha. Its life ended at 850 hours, which disappoints me a bit, but I'm still sticking with Yamaha. I'm trying to decide between the Yamaha 4-stroke 90 or 115. In my situation, the price is almost identical. The weight...
I hope I didn't post this twice . . . I have been reading several former threads on water in the hull. I’m sure I have a problem, but wanted some inputs from the group as I proceed forward. 1) My rub rail is in bad shape, some water is certainly coming through the rivets. This is being...
