    SOLD - 2004 Cruiser 22’ $29.5K (Saugerties, NY)

Harvey, the engine does have more than 80 hours total. The total is not a lot as we used the boat on the odd weekend for rides up and down the Hudson River. I’m embarrassed I don’t know if I can pull the number of hours from the E-TEC ECU. I will work to figure this out. Dave

    SOLD - 2004 Cruiser 22’ $29.5K (Saugerties, NY)

I’m a mechanical engineer and 61 years old. I maintain my equipment carefully. When we purchased this boat in 2011 I was amazed at the quality of workmanship and attention to code and quality. I have replaced the fuel pumps and evaporator in the engine in 2018. We have used the boat...

    Bilge pump and wiring

I would suggest you replace the pump based on two points: 1) The motor was shorted for greater than 30 seconds with a 10A fuse and 2) The pump uses a brushed motor. During the 30 second short, the brushes likely arced to the armature. While the damage may not be significant initially, the...

    Pre-Float checklist

Charlie, Thank you for the reply. The charging circuits on my boat are only connected via a battery charger. The Starter battery is charged by shore power via the battery charger and once underway, the outboard's alternator. The other three system batteries are only charged by the battery...

    Pre-Float checklist

To those who replied, Thank you! Great edits. The boat will be kept in a slip. I especially like the seasonal checks. My goal was to stream-line my pre-float by using a list and think about where I was on the boat to minimize running fore and aft because I'd created a list that didn't...

    What's in YOUR toolbox?

Bob, I agree, we are spoiled. I've just completed restoring a 1975 BMW R90S and while I've fixed a few parts like the fiberglass fairing, I've been able to source new parts from around the world (starter, alternator, stator, diode board, carb rebuild kits, brake master cylinder, brake levers...

    What's in YOUR toolbox?

Thanks everyone for the great comments and thanks for the link to the related thread. I always search before posting and I missed that reference. I've copied the comments into a spreadsheet that I'll use to create my on-board toolbox. My son and I have pulled some great "McGiver"...

    What's in YOUR toolbox?

I've been thinking about what tools I want to carry with us on our new to us CD 22 cruiser. I can fix many of the systems on a boat (engine, electrical, hydraulic, plumbing, etc.) so I plan on carrying a reasonably complete kit. As my experience base is with cars and motorcycles, I'd...

    Winterizing a CD 22

I've been pulling engines from cars and motorcycles for 39 years but I'm a complete newbie to boats and welcome any critiques on this checklist for winterizing. I've compiled this checklist from a number of threads on this excellent site as well as other reading. Here's what I plan to do with...
