With the top plastic piece out, the bottom of the glass can come out. I removed top and bottom plastic runner, as well as the fuzzy weather stripping, to clean and polish.

A grubby sliding strip showing why the C-Dory windows lose their slipperiness. Installation is the reverse of removal, but getting the plastic strips to set back in right was time consuming. They "click" in to place when everything is lined up properly. The little tempered glass replacement was about $100 and took a couple of days. The glass shop in Seattle had to send it out to get the right thickness of tempered glass cut with rounded corners.
I also had to remove the slide handle off of the good piece. I "shocked" it off using the plastic wood and hammer. I reattached with epoxy thickened with cabosil (because that is what I had handy).
With the top plastic piece out, the bottom of the glass can come out. I removed top and bottom plastic runner, as well as the fuzzy weather stripping, to clean and polish.
Then a top plastic piece has to come out. The came out easy. Getting them set back in properly took a long time until suddenly, for no reason, they popped in to place.
The metal trim has to be taken off first.
This is the sliding window on the other side. I decided that removing it for a template to take to the glass shop would be the easiest way to get the proper fit. I'm using a piece of "plastic wood" and a plastic hammer.
Pulling the broken glass out was easy, although messy.
