With favorable tides and flat calm water, I made it to Shallow Bay in about an hour, earlier than expected. Fortunately by 8:30 AM buoys were already beginning to free up, so I grabbed this first one, although not ideal at the entrance to the bay.

Later in the afternoon, more buoys were free, so I moved over to the far side of the bay, away from the beach party crowds.
Next up: how many people does a Whaler 17 hold? If you guessed 10, you are wrong, still plenty of space for another 10 in the rear of the boat.
Labor Day weekend at Sucia is all about watching Qualified Captains. These rowdy yahoos had a great method for beaching daddy's Whaler.
