I went in to a little harbor on the south of Buchholz Channel for the night.

The store was surprisingly well stocked.

There always seemed to be a flock of shorebirds on the dock.
These guys were everywhere, including the lagoon that runs for about a mile NE of Winter Harbor. The lagoon is shallow and open, but the weather report was good and I only draw 8 inches.

This is where the highway to Port Alice crosses the Marble River. Years ago I kayaked down the river and then paddled to Coal Harbor to run the shuttle. Lots of caves along the river, some showing signs of human habitation.
