The main hatch has has been leaking for a while but I wanted to get off the great lakes before taking it apart (I made a quick and dirty rain cover that attached into the four existing snaps for the sun shade)

first: clean up all the old caulk and muck
On the Erie Canal I had caulked the parameter hoping it would tide us over until I could pull it but it didn't and I can see why
the leaks came from under the hinges where the caulk had not quite spread out all the way to create a seal
