South African Sea Fig Iceplant. Though an exotic species that outcompetes the endemics, a beautiful flower.
The long view -- we're on East Anacapa looking west. The first Island is actually West Anacapa. The Island behind that is Santa Cruz. The buildings in the foreground (the only ones on the Island -- include the Ranger's house on the right, the maintenance building/ visitor center, and in the back the water tower -- now covered by a building to disuade people from shooting at it from passing boats.
The original lense of the lighthouse is stored onsite in a small museum -- well worth seeing.

Amazing birding on Anacapa -- East Anacapa is the major Western Gull rookery while West Anacapa is the primary Brown Pelican rookery.
The Ranger's house. He was happy to see us -- they serve one week on one week off. And not many visitors this winter.
