Weed eater Escanaba Harbor. Escanaba on Bay De Noc has good fishing for many species. Excellent destination to combine with Fayette.
Escanaba Light Now Museum. Escanaba has great harbor set in 160 acre lakefront park. Saw ore boat come and go. Downtown with restaurants, internet cafe is a few blocks away. They have events in the park.

Not For Hire and 2 boats at Fayette. Smelting town boomed for 20 years then shut down. Located here for the limestone. The iron ore came by schooner from Escanaba. Used hardwood for charcoal smelting process. Development of coke smelting process caused town to shut down almost overnight in 1890.

State Park at Rock Island, WI. This park is and island reached by ferry, I guess you can moor overnight although not well protected. Mainly a backpacker's destination, not real boat friendly.
