Paddling out of Eagle Harbor
The winds were howling from the NW all day, but finally calmed down almost like flipping a switch on Monday afternoon so I went for another paddle
Arrived at Eagle Harbor relatively early on Monday, but already a couple of buoys had freed up. A voluntary no-anchor bay to help restore the eelgrass, its best to use the buoys here.
It was still calm along Orcas the whole way to Cypress, but I was definitely climbing and surfing big swells from Georgia Strait almost the entire way!
Trying to beat the winds from the NW before it gets too rough, decided to head closer to home for Monday night, rather than a 2nd night at Sucia.
Happy to be leaving Shallow Bay on Monday morning. Got knocked around all night by rolling swells coming in from Georgia Strait. Possibly one of the bounciest nights I've spent aboard, and one of the reasons I prefer the buoys in this relatively exposed bay, although the anchored boats were fine.
