I got tired of things falling off the overhead shelf when the boat starts bouncing. I wanted to close it off without taking away any accessibility and useability of the full shelf width. Simply turn both spring loaded latches and the door swings down offering full access. Made it out of sapele finished with oil. Matches the teak fairly well.

Grilling out in downtown Portland.
Newly installed Standard Horizon GX2150 (w/ AIS receiver). Also installed a Caframo Bora 3-speed fan (one of the few fans not made in China).
The overhead door drops open offering full access to the shelf. The stops are epoxied to the roof. My Honda BF90 service manual still fits easily.

8" fenders don't store all that easily so I wanted a rack. I decided to mount the rack on the roof handrail. Mounting it on the bow rail obscured visibility from the helm. It's worked well and really keeps those big fenders out of the way until I need them.
