Here you can see the location of the lifting rings (they are always there on the engine just under a plastic sub-cowling that is fastened with two screws). You can also see where I had some (white) lines running from the rings over to the port side stern cleat to hold the engine slightly to one side so I could get tools in to work (was prophylactically epoxying transom holes). Ignore the red line in the foreground - that has nothing to do with the engine.
