The Marinaut 215 cockpit has plenty of space for entertaining guests. We had 4 people in the cockpit enjoying Mimosa's and cheese while anchored (with anchor dragging) on the Niantic River in Niantic, CT. To give one an example of scale, I'm 6 feet 250 lbs.

Aluminum plate on back is a little over 17" high and 24" wide.

no magic to the dimensions, just the size of the sheet I got. Needed to bore 3 1.5" holes in the plate to match the drain pattern in the splashwell. Bought 1.5 inch bit online at harbor freight.

back plate is 3/8 not 1/2 as mentioned elsewhere. front plate (red stripe)is 5/8" (wanted low flex) and goes down to just above the drain holes.

Though I had some previous cracking (seperation) of the glass at the top of the transom, it still seemed extremely strong and not yet needing a full rebuild. However sandwiching it in thick aluminum seemed the way to go, especially with the added stresses added by using a 25" shaft motor.
