We hadn't gotten far before the winds turned us back and we set up camp in a storm. Waves in the Straight were 3m, rising to 5m in the night. We were fairly well protected from the 50 kt winds.
We didn't notice the deer sleeping in the driftwood until walking back to camp.
It had created a natural shelter.
