The Gold River, another that I kayaked years ago. In the spring, it roars along from snow melt. Now, it looks like a good river for an inner tube. Just kidding. On river right is a triangle sign warning boaters that danger lies ahead.

I was going to anchor in this little bay, but when I came around the point I saw that it was already occupied.

The logs were sorted and placed in 1 of 4 trip dumps. When full, the trip was released and they were sent down in to a raft of similar sized logs. The little tug then hauled them out into the bay.

At the edge of town, it's 45km of gravel logging road out to pavement. Speed limit is 60km. 80km for log trucks.

The old hospital (now rented rooms with kitchenettes). When built in the 1930's, it was the largest medical facility north of Port Alberni (10 beds).

The public ramp, like many, it isn't made for low tide use. It dropped off about a foot right at the edge. On the other hand, I didn't see any launch fee.

Although I launched in Moucha Bay, this is a picture back up towards Gold River.
