Second if you drop the gasket in the water once it is a foot down you can not see it. In 3' of water I tied a string to the other gasket and dropped it in, all I could see was the knot in the string! 6 stainless steel screws, wipe the caulking off and you are done.
The scupper has a rectangle hole in it that goes down and the gasket that goes between the scupper and the spacer has a hole in it that the ball seats in and that hole goes up.
I premarked and drilled the holes and then caulked the perimeter and around each hole.
After removing the flapper the thru hull drain protruded outside about 5/8" and I didn't want to cut it off. So I ordered a 3/4" spacer (they also make a 1/2" spacer) to go on around the drain.
