I have concluded that the lazarette hatches that my CD-22 came with are not satisfactory (due to leakage/design) and plan to replace them with a hatch that actually covers the opening! As far as I can see there are two options out there:
One is the IMTRA SPA 40154 which has been mentioned in several forums, but is hard to get in Canada as far as I can see.
The other is the Bomar G7812-W which is apparently what they are installing at the factory now and seems to be fairly easy to get in Canada.
Can anyone give me any pros/cons of either solution? The Bomar hatches appear to need a slightly larger cut out (13-1/16" x 10-7/8") vs (12 3/4" x 10").
Once I remove the old hatches, I may use them in the bow as per the recent discussion on CD-22 storage http://www.c-brats.com/viewtopic.php?t=18186

I just got the Imtra 40154 hatches directly from the Imtra website, and they arrived pretty quickly. The 2 online retailers I found that carried the hatch had sketchy Better Business Bureau records.

Sorry I can't compare the two, but I figured you might like a source for the Imtra hatch:

The one that Joel ordered twice en masse for the C-Brats was very well received w/o problems, if I remember right.

Maybe you could arrange to have someone in the U.S. order one for you and ship it to you as a gift from their residence? (With suitable financial arrangements.)

For what its worth, I purchased two Imtra 40154 hatch covers from Defender Supply for $64.99 each plus shipping. 860-701-3400. I was referred to Defender from a Tech at Imtra. The tech said he would sell me direct but they would be less expensive @ Defender. Defender did not have them in stock but ordered them and they were shipped directly from Imtra.

The people at Imtra are great.

I would double check on the size of the Bomar hatch. I see the size listed as 8 x 12 and 9 13/16 x 12..... You want one which is a close fit, so you do not have to do much glass work for the new hatch. The Imtra is almost an exact fit for the old hatch, and works well. I also paid about $65 for each hatch.

Sounds like the IMTRA ones are a better fit. I will see about ordering direct from Defender as they are much less ($65 vs 95) there.

I ordered mine today from Defender Supply and the order desk said, Wow," we've sold 4 of these sets in just the last few days. I wonder why they are so popular"
