" We got on the boat though to show him where things were and I turned the batt switches on to power things up."

I think the key word here is, " I turned the batt. switches on"... Much has been posted about, disconnecting the power from the wallas to reset the Mother Board. One post in this regard, gave though to putting a toggle switch on the power input to his Wallas because he had to use this "reset" so often.
Just a thought.

Thanks Gary but I don't think so. I ALWAYS turn off both battery switches when we come in because I don't have shore power on the pier yet. I use a genset to operate the lift and depend on the engines to do the charging during our underway periods. I'll keep everyone posted on this one though.

Many times the Wallas is wired diretly to the house battery--and there is a fuse in line.

I was curious about where the exhaust is installed--on my Tom Cat, the exhaust is 3 to 4" ABOVE the DECK--not below the hull to deck joint. I have had not problems withe the exhaust.

Mine IS wired directly Bob. When I shut both batt switches off, the fan continues to run to cool down as it is designed to do.

I don't know about the exhaust, the pier is underwater right now, I'll look in the AM and post a picture if I can.

Well, the wind has dropped and the tide receeded a little. Here's a pix of the stbd side of the TC. The upper chrome hole (behind the mooring line) is the Wallas exhaust. Above the main deck a couple of inches. The other two overboards are for the sink and the shower sump respectively.

Rest assured, the mooring line is moved when I use the Wallas (which I haven't lately)

The other two chrome "bumps" just above the rubrail are the fuel vent (left), the holding tank vent (right) and the water tank vent forward just aft of the cleat.
