Da Nag: Problem !!!!!
I have hit the events for all three that I am on the roster of.... three times each. I have clicked my heels 3 times too.... and I am still upstairs in my office instead of at the gatherings.
Now if you can fix that... I would appreciate it.
Well... like the others ... I do truly appreciate your time and work Brother. Hope to see ya again soon.

I was posting pictures slowly last night before the migration, but today I'm having trouble. Is it me or the new server?? _________________ RUSS & TONI |

The albums should be working as well (or as poorly) as they did before...unfortunately, they're quite the hack, and are based on some pretty old code that I can't easily upgrade. That being said...I just uploaded a couple images without problem. Are you seeing errors, or does the upload process just run forever?
It definitely helps things if you resize pictures first - maximum size is 800x600 pixels. You can upload larger images, and the software will resize things - but that is where most of the problems manifest that I've seen. _________________ Will, C-Brat Nerd |

Hi Bill,
Thanks for all the work you do!
Now for my problem. Every time I go to a topic thread, when I return I get the Warning: Page has Expired '. Then I have to hit the refresh and retry buttons to get back to the list of topics.
Is this some setting on my PC? It just started today.
Thanks,
Steve |

Shouldn't be related - I'm not seeing it from Firefox (Linux and Windows) or IE6.
Did you try clearing your browser cache? |

Hi Bill,
A little more detail. I have the problem if I use the 'View Posts from the Last 24Hrs'. If I use the 'View posts since last visit' to get to the topics then I do not have the problem.
I am using IE6 and I am not sure how to clear the cache.
Thanks,
Steve |

Steve is not crazy, Bill. I'm seeing the exact same anomaly with IE7, and it is brand new today. _________________ TyBoo Mike

O.K., I still am having a problem with uploading photos, the upload process just goes on forever. Alas, my nerdness is measured in fractions and I don't know how to resize photos, although it always worked before without resizing. I fear I will never be allowed entry into Nerddom... |

OK...sorry to be dense, but give me an exact step-by-step procedure to reproduce the problem, including the exact error message. I can't duplicate it with IE6.
I don't have IE7, and have nowhere to install it - no Windows boxes at the house, and my work PC (where I test IE stuff) requires IE6 to remain. |

Just an aside - everything seems to be working fine under Firefox and Safari on my mac. Thanks again for all the work you do Bill. _________________ Roger on Meant to be |

Assuming Windows, here's a step-by-step tutorial using a great free tool called Irfanview.
For photos being uploaded, set the width to 800 (Step 5 in the tutorial).
It's really pretty easy after you've done it a couple times. You'll have far fewer problems, and much greater upload speed if you resize ahead of time. |

Clicking this (specifically the "Go" button):
Then clicking a topic and trying to use the browser's Back button to return to the list gets me this:
No, I have not dumped my cache or tossed my cookies in the last several days, but then that is not something I rush to do every time some web site gives me some piddly little problem. I would rather whine about it so I can hear the webmaster blame it on Microsoft, even though it is a problem generally unique to a handful of particular websites.
I can, however, upload photos in whatever manner and whatever original size I choose, although they are at times rather blurry. Using the album search feature doesn't work very often, but I am sure that is the other Bill's fault as well. |

Bill - I think this is the problem some are having when they use their Back Page arrow on IE7.
From the home page click on the GO button for the Last 24 Hours
Click on any thread then use the back button and you will get a Web Page has expired.
It took some playing around because I always open another tab or window to read the post. So I do not know if this is a new issue or not.

And I have another question.
If I am cooking two roasts about 2.5 pounds each side-by-side in the oven using the time and temp chart in the Betty Crocker cookbook the 1982 girlfriend gave me, do I use what Betty lists for a single 5 pound roast, a single 2.5 pound roast, or do I have to clear the oven cache and use the stupid Linux meat thermometer? Dumping the cookies is out of the question because Jamie just made them (choclate chip) and they are very good. As soon as her last batch is out of the oven the cow meat is going in, so a prompt response is appreciated. |
