Dave (K7KJR),
i have never experienced an appreciable loss through a barrel conector in the FM range we operate in. i presently have a barrel conector one foot from my shakespere 8' antenna and the RG-59 coax runs 18 feet from there to the txmitter. on the 1 watt setting i am able to work stations 12 to 15 miles up or down river here on the "wiggly" cumberland river. guys, i may not be in the same sort of opperating area, but a properly made-up barrel connector splice ain't gonna kill your signal !!!the reason i addressed dave with this is that i notice his ameture radio call sign and look for his input.
c u later
