My 22 Cruiser did not come with any canvas cover for the door to the V Berth. A little privacy would be nice at times, and most pictures that I see of other boats, there is a cloth door. Is this something that everyone makes or is there a supplier ?
Does anybody have a good set of dimesions if I wanted to make one ? |

Well, here's what the C-Dory brochure says:
"A roomy (6'3") berth area in the bow can be closed off for privacy or the curtain can remain open as shown."
If you bought your 2006 new and it doesn't have it, you should check with the dealer or the factory because the vinyl curtain is standard equipment. Good luck. _________________ MartyP

As far as I know every C-Dory 22 comes with a canvas zippered cover. Unless for some reason a previous owner ordered it without. (Are you the original owner?) it is a 2006 so I would think you are.
I would imagine that if you asked C-Dory, they would send you one in the appropriate color with the snaps. It would be a simple matter to drill and attach the snaps.
I have had a 22 and now have a 25 and I have never closed the cover. Of course I am somewhat of an exibitionist. _________________ David and Kate

I am the second owner and the PO said it did not come with a door cover, which I think is right since there are no snaps on the perimeter of the opening.
Did you have to install the snaps when you found yours ?
I will make a seach under all the seats and cushions and if I cannot find one then I will contact the factory. ... thanks |

hopefully, David at least has drawers.
That door/cover that the factory provides is nice and would be worth pursuing but a nice beach towel with a few snaps works good and also does double duty as a beach towel. Our factory cover has been in the attic for several years now, don't miss it at all _________________ Ken

I believe King Marine in seattle does all the factory canvas as far as camperback's etc... And probably does the interior stuff too. I just had some canvas made by them and they did a great job. Dave had all the measurment's on file since he does so many CDory's. I bet he could whip you out one real quick, and you would just have to put the snaps on. If your interested his PM me for his phone #.

Has anyone enclosed the V-berth area on a 16 foot cruiser? I'd like to add some porti-potty privacy (PPP) if possible. Thanks. |

jdower,
Is your boat in Austin? If so we now have 3 brats in Austin. Your boat, my 1989 22 cruiser, and jimmydj's 255 tomcat.

Marty-
Never seen it done, but here's an idea from the morning coffee train of thought:
Since the enclosed section of the CD-16 cabin is already kind of tight, you could
1. Have OldGrowth Dave add two 2-ft sections to the middle of your boat,
2. Then add THIS to the new section. Would add an unmistakeable and identifyable profile to put you in the C-Dory signtings each weekend and keep the Admiral happy.

Joe,
Your "head" could be added to any model C Dory. I would not advise any major modifications however. Instead I would suggest adding it to the "poop deck". David and Ken would of course choose the optional missing door to satisfy their needs. |

On a more serious note we rarely use our v-berth door. Dee made curtains for the cabin windows that snap to the windows. I just screwed snaps to the existing window screws. Either way both options are available from the factory. I would give them a call. |

Hey Joe, not such a far out idea. When I was in the islands with the Seabees we had three multihole outhouses, one for officers. one for chiefs, and one called 'the enlisted mens club'. Our motto was 'deep, dark, vented, and flytight'. This is true, so help me Arleigh Burke.
