|

In October I had the chance to join a freind for a days sturgeon fishing on the Fraser River. None of us, other than the guy who owns the boat, had ever been fishing for sturgeon before. All I can say is WOW!! That was the most incredible day of fishing I've ever had. We caught and released 16 fish. (No retention of sturgeon allowed in the Fraser.) The smallest about 2 feet and the largest measured 6"6". Its incredible to see these huge fish jump out of the water! Amazing. Now I know why Tyboo spends so much time fishing for these critters. They are amazing. Did I say that already? We ended the day with a triple header just as it was getting dark. What a day.
A few pictures are now in here

Nice pics!!! Those sturgeon are a true game fish. Once you get one you're hooked. I sold most of my trout/kokanee gear and fish them almost exclusivly here now that the Dory allows me too.My boat's biggest is 89+ inches. |

That is almost half as long as your boat. I bet that was fun bringing it in. _________________ Dave

Yeah...Moth Ball Fleet mostly and up thru Montezuma Slough. I live about 5 minutes from the Martinez Marina so the Fleet is a 10 minute ride away.
The fishing is hot right now.A 110 incher was just caught last week.Nothing like soaking bait and having the chance to catch a 30lb striper or a sturgeon bigger then you!! The river salmon season has been a bust down here this year but Dungenous Crab season just opened Saturday so there's always something to do
Here's a few pics of the 89"er
Tight lines to all!!!
