I just installed the Raymarine SL70C on the Anita Marie. I am getting no transmitted images in the transmit mode but I do in the simulator mode. When you turn on simulator mode you can hear the radome rotate one revolution and then stop as it paints the screen. When I turn on the transmit mode I hear the radome do the same thing, rotate once and then stop but does not paint any images on the screen. I really can't tell if it stopped rotating just I can't hear it anymore.
I have checked all the connection twice to make sure it is installed correctly. I have gone thru the start up procedure in the manuel but can not find anything that would indicate my problem.
Does anyone have any ideas or am I just doing something stupid.

Call Raymarine customer assistance. Those folks can diagnose anything over the phone.

Thanks Moose, I was going to do that but they do not reopen till Tuesday, just trying to get it resolved as soon as I could. Was hoping to play with it on the water on Sunday.

Well now, that really gets me. It's supposed to be -25F tonight and we must have three feet of ice on the lake. It'll be awhile til MOOSE gets wet!

Had to ship the radar back to Raymarine for repair. The unit had a bad CPU but it sure works now. I can tell because from my driveway I can track cars going down the street. I need to get on the water.

Glad to hear you got it up and running Fred. That's the Raymarine model that caught my attention at the Boat Show. Very nice!

Fred - glad you got the radar going! Moose - just another one of the joys of living on the Upper Left Coast...check out our photos of our February 14-15 trip to Sucia and February 21-22 trip to Stuart Island, both in the San Juans, last couple of pages of Daydream album, link on left. We definitely can enjoy twelve month boating here, especially with a C-Dory with a Wallas. Console yourself, though, it rains a lot here and a typical June day (high 60s or low 70s) is usually only 20 degrees warmer than a good February day (high 40s or low 50s). Of course it occasionally gets colder, even snows once in a while. Summer occurs between July 29 and August 1.

Well, everything is a trade-off, I guess. We did actually have +47F yesterday, so there is some indication things are starting to turn around. Plenty of snow remaining, though. We'll be lucky to get on the water in late April; early May is a safer bet. But then, lookout!
