Lois & I had the pleasure yesterday to take a nice couple from Duval for a ride on our CD. Dan & Chris are looking seriously into the possibility of purchasing a CD22. Dan has been checking the C-Brat site for info. We thought it would be nice if we all said hello. _________________ We are land lubbers now enjoying NC.

Welcome Dan and Chris. Wade told me the other day at my place that he was taking you out. C-Dorys are great little boats. And the people you meet are great too. I doubt that you could find a better combination than a C-Dory and the resources available on this site.
Keep us posted and ask lots of questions. _________________ David and Kate

Hello there Dan & Chris....thinking back on our boat purchase I wish I'd of bought a brand "B" boat. If it sank, got stolen or vandalized it wouldn't be a big deal. With a Brand "B" boat I wouldn't spend time dotting on the thing and pouring over boat do-dad catalogs. With some other boat I wouldn't be wasting time on the internet with other owners....but hey, don't listen to me...go ahead and buy a C-Dory and see if it doesn't start taking over your life _________________ Ken

Welcome to the Pub Chris and Dan (equal billing). We recently bought our CD as well (Pics. in the photo album). WE LOVE OUR C-DORY!! Even if this site didn't exist, we would still love it, but having the bonus of this site has been better that buying an extended warranty . I have saved ALOT of money by being able to do much of the add-on work myself, as opposed to taking to the shop. There are so many threads here that help you to understand you boat. If there isn't, just ask and you wil probably find out what, how, why, when, where and how much..
I am in agreement with Ken (above). Our boat is stored 2 hours away at the Oregon coast. I happened to have the day off today so I drove down there so I could install a fish finder, cigarette lighter receptacle for all those 12 volt goodies, and measure for a port side kicker mounting.
We are pretty sick puppies when it comes to our CD's, and we hope you will be coming down with a bad case of CD soon .

Hey, Dan hold off on calling Les tomorrow. I am scheduled to have him install an anchor windlass on my 22 on Friday and don't want him distracted by more boat sales talk.
Just kidding of course. You want another ride let me know. You will have to take a little $1.25 ferry ride, however, to get to me. But I could be talked into reimbursing you. Having said that I may be in trouble with Wade who came over last Sat and did the US Power Squadron inspection on Anna Leigh and he paid the $1.25. I did send him home with a couple of 22 oz bottles of a REALLY fine beer however. I have a nice official looking decal on my window now. |

Howdy, all.... and thanks so much for the warm welcome!!
As Dan mentioned, we had a fantastic time riding with Wade & Louis. I have always had a difficult time truly relaxing, and after that ride, I slept the entire way back to Duvall, limp as a noodle. Dan has put in his boat order with Les, and I look forward to many more relaxing rides like that. What a cool boat!! And what a wonderful website y'all have created!! I look forward to meeting you all out on the water :0)

Well, if you guys get feeling overcome with the need to merely gaze upon or touch a C-Dory, Daydream is a mere 17 or 20 miles down the road in Fall City! We are twelve month boaters, check out our pix of our February 14-15 (one year anniversary of the boat) trip to Sucia and February 21-22 trip (with David and Anna Leigh) to Stuart Island, they are on the last couple of pages of the Daydream album (link on left)...But we like lake trips, too...In January we launched at Mercer Island, through Montlake Cut, across Lake Union, out the Ship Canal, through the locks, out to Elliott Bay Marina for a late lunch at Maggie Bluffs and back...FANTASTIC day trip! You are going to LOVE this boat! The hard part is the wait between placing the order and taking delivery, but there is a WHOLE lot to look forward to, and this group will become like family after just one outing. You won't have your boat, but you should consider coming to JArrell's (happy now, Bill? ) Cove March 27 and 28. Drive over, stay in the State Park campground, you can cruise with us or no doubt just about anybody else!

Congratulations Dan. As I read through this thread from the beginning, I realized we C-Brats sound like a cult! Glad you are with us, but don't drink the Kool-Aid!
Best wishes and Happy New Year, |
