Hi Brats!
The Bahamas thread has me drooling for gin-clear water, snorkeling, fresh fish, lobster and conch!
I'm game for a Brat Cruise to the Bahamas in March/April next year. How many Ches Bay attendees are interested in making it a go? Maybe we could have an informal meeting there.
Others not attending: how about an interest poll here?

Interest, Nick? Interest you say? You bet your sweet bippee! One major vacation a year, I am pretty sure it would not be too hard to sell the Admiral on this one! One not-so-minor problem! How to get Daydream across the country...

Hmmm... Let me think about this for a moment... Bahamas. Boat. Water. Hmmm...
Yup! I'm interested! Sorry, I do not have a sweet bippee though. Can I just bring a bottle of rum instead?
All kidding aside I am very interested in going to the Bahamas with a group.

Nick: Count me as very interested. I couldn't commit this early but that time of year would definitely work.
Pat: You get Daydream to Florida by making a left when you hit the freeway instead of a right. In 2001 when I retired, we hooked my 19' Arima up behind the camper and 10 days later we were in Key West. Of course we stayed two months so all the driving seemed worthwhile. How about a caravan of Northwesters heading for Florida? _________________ Ken Trease

Does anyone know how long it would take to cruise from DC to West Palm Beach? We have had some great times in the Abacos and while carving out the time to do this would be a real challenge, the thought of being there next spring is VERY appealing.

As a UCRF (unofficial C-Dory Representative of Florida) , I am interested in going to the Bahamas. What's wrong with planning a trip in 2006? I suggest we plan a C-Dory gathering for entry at Bimini anytime between July 1 and July 15, 2006.
For some great reading on crusing the Bahamas, read this guide from the Boat US online store: http://www.boatus-store.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=20002&langId=-1&catalogId=20002&productId=161707
Get ready for some great cruising, diving and beautiful scenery . _________________ Capt Mac Daniel

Count us in, at least on the discussions for the 07 trip. We want to do it at some point for sure, but whether or not I could get enough time off to make the trip worthwhile in March/April is questionable.
July of '06, eh? Will have to give that some thought!! _________________ John

Well, since we started that Bahamas thread, I'll see your sweet bippie and raise you a sock-it-to-me. We are SO interested in a Bahamas 07 trip!
Best wishes,

Great. Not only do I not have a sweet bippee, I am fresh out of sock-it-to-me's as well.
On the other hand I spent some time sailing in the Mediterranean last summer and acquired a taste for cold goose liver.
I will officially call your sweet bippee, your sock-it-to-me AND raise you 2 jars of cold goose liver (it's an acquired taste folks).
You can pretty much count me in for 2007, and I am interested in hearing more about a trip in 2006. |

Gee's(!), I haven't even figured-out for certain what I'm going to do THIS summer, and now we're distracted think about Bahama's '07!
Give me a break!
I "was" thinking about la Grand Circuit Nautique (or whatever Bill called it...) for '07. Now I'm on the Bahama's Detour. Meanwhile, last night (during the second Sundowner...) a Friend and I resurrected the idea of MacKenzie River '07.
Casey's getting Crazy.
That said, I will be following this thread and must confess, Bahama's just makes me want to dig out my snorkeling gear and get ready for an Adventure.
Dealers fail to tell you about these challenges when you're buying a C-Dory. Bad, bad dealer: to to your room. Prospective Brats MUST realize ownership will cause unending decisions and planning. Who knew C-Dory ownership would be this complex? I don't recall these challenges when we owned a Grady White, SeaRay, or Whaler.
Life's a Beach, eh?
Oh well - we do what we gotta do.
Casey

I'd be interested. I don't have a trailer, but this idea might motivate me.
2007 would be as soon as i could plan it..to take off from commitments here...But the idea of travel with a c-dory wolf pack is appealing to me..
The banjo , like it or not, would come along...
Let's keep this alive....maybe talk about it at the June Chesapeake gathering...
Ah, adventure..maybe we could talk El and Bill into it...they could get married again, in yet another culture...(i'll be we could get them on Oprah, don't you think?)..

Iggy..
I'm known here as "the banjo man"...five string, but i play a kind of folk/blues style...Papa Charlie Jackson...and in C tuning...fairly basic.
I play a lot of Pete Seeger style stuff, and old Delta blues, play with a harmonica rack (also play Chromatic, jazz)...I have three bands, one plays Chesapeake Music, one jazz, and one old blues...the blues band is "Terraplane"...
I play for schools too...lots of arts council work..
The Deering has gotten me into and out of more trouble than i can ever explain. Think on it.
