Thanks for the interest and great questions! I wanted to provide a few clarifications based on what folks have been asking:
Cooking:
While Consuela does have a microwave, I also cook off an electric hot plate, which works great. It runs off the Jackery power station or the Honda generator, depending on what I’m using.
For backup or outdoor use, I also have a portable gas stove that I’ll bring out occasionally.
During raft-ups or evenings on the hook, I’ll sometimes bring a grill for open-air cooking — makes for a great dinner on the water.
Anchor Rode:
The anchor setup includes 30 feet of chain spliced into 100 feet of rope rode — that’s a correction from my earlier description (I had listed 50'). It’s a solid anchoring system, and the Rocna Vulcan holds great.
Power While at Anchor:
When I bought Consuela, she had two deep-cycle house batteries. I’ve since removed those to lighten her up — shaved about 200 pounds off the stern.
I rewired the house circuit to be powered by a Jackery lithium power station https://www.jackery.com/products/explorer-880-portable-power-station?sscid=71k9_gm71k&utm_source=ShareASale&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=1967470_1386491557 which:
• Runs all 12V systems: cabin lights, water pump, bilge pumps, USB ports, fans, etc.
• Has a built-in inverter that powers the microwave, electric hot plate, and hot water heater
• Allows me to carry the PowerStation back to the house if I want to charge there.
The A/C unit does require the Honda 2000i generator to run — the Jackery can’t quite handle that load. But with the SoftStart installed on the A/C, the generator runs in eco-mode just fine and keeps fuel use down.
Window Coverings:
Yes — Consuela has custom-made snap-on window coverings for all the cabin windows.
They attach to the inside and fit very snug, giving you excellent privacy and doing a great job blocking sunlight when needed. Great for sleeping in or keeping the cabin cool on sunny days.
Pricing:
Yes, I'm negotiable within reason — but please no lowball offers. Consuela is a well-equipped and lovingly maintained boat, and I think she’s priced fairly for what she offers. That said, I’m happy to talk numbers with serious buyers.

Viewing Consuela
Just a quick note about seeing the boat in person:
Consuela is currently stored on Redstone Arsenal, which requires military or veteran access to enter. Because of that — and the Alabama heat — it’s a bit of a process for me to:
• Get on base
• Uncover the boat
• Hook up the trailer
• Bring her off base
• Then reverse the whole process afterward
So with that in mind, I ask that only serious buyers reach out to schedule an in-person viewing. I’ve had a few folks come out who weren’t quite ready for one reason or another, and I truly appreciate everyone’s interest — but I hope you’ll understand if I ask a few qualifying questions before I go through the full prep to show her.
That said, I’ll be taking Consuela back to Scottsboro soon and putting her in the water for a two-week stretch. That will be a great time to come see her fully rigged, floating, and ready — and much easier for walk-throughs or test rides.
Thanks,
