The last post I can find on the topic (2017) shows sources which no longer have 1.5" balsa core available. This is the thickness I need for repairs to the hull of my 2002 22' cruiser. I can't find anything online except 4x8 sheets for $600 plus shipping. I need a 2x4 sheet an would prefer not to laminate 3/4" sheets. Does anyone know of a source?

An internet search revealed an ebay source:" I-Core Boat End-Grain Balsa Wood | Rigid 48 x 24 x 1 1/2 Inch (8 PC)Opens in a new window or tab
Brand New
$778.07
Was: $874.2411% off"

Most places ship 48" x 24" to keep shipping costs down, unless you have a fiberglass supply locally which has full 4 x 8 foot seats. Most of us use two 3/4" sheets of balsa--there are several reasons to do that over a 1.5". With a layer of mat between the two balsa sheets, it gives a stiffer laminate. Also will give better confirmation and uptake of resin.

Assuming you are in Portland OR, it might be worth giving Schooner Creek a call.
