|
|
Hi all, thought I might try reaching out to the community here and see if anyone has a lead for me. I am looking for the special Honda 62mm wrench
907LPA-ZV301010 for the lower unit on a 40hp outboard. It seems more elusive than an endangered species, I can't find one to buy. I thought I had one on Boats.com but it went to backorder status and I doubt I'll ever see that one. I would think there would be some used ones people didn't need any longer out there but I haven't come across one yet.
If anyone has a lead on one of these rare wrenches I'd sure appreciate a heads up.
Thanks much,
Don |

I searched for 907LPA-ZV301010 and zero returns. Looks like you need 07LPA-ZV30101 (no 9 at the beginning and no 0 and the end?) Anyway, when I worked on my Volvo Penta outdrive, I made a few tools similar to this. Might be an option? Looks like this tool is close to $300. |

When I was running the Honda 40’s & needed to work on a lower unit, the cost of of this tool had me hauling the boat to a Honda repair place 150 miles away instead of doing the work myself. _________________ Jay and Jolee 2000 22 CD cruiser Hunkydory

This is a unicorn tool and the design of the goofy nut behind the prop to change the seal is stupid. I eventually made one. My experience is even if you can get the tool, or if you made the tool like I did, as soon as you put any real leverage on it at all, you know like you have to get the dang thing off, you pop a crack in the case running through the threads because it is paper thin. A number of dealers won't touch them because of this. The good news is once the case cracks the nuts comes right off. |

The Honda dealer did the work, but as TR said, still had to have the case replaced on one of the motors for an additional $600 & that was years ago. |
