They were posted on here a while back, and I got one. They are heavy, not sure what they are made of but are quit good, at least good enough to put on a shelf. I got one with twins, but they are Honda silver, but do go up and down, and there is a stand so that the boat can sit level or propped bow up a bit.
This is a response I got from "Waypoint" when I asked about twins:
Quote: | I know that you expressed some interest in one of these boats. I Just listed a red twin on eBay, if you're still interested.
Just type in c-dory in the search bar.
Best Regards,

I have been PM-img back and forth with Mark about his models. He started this as a way to work from home during Covid. He has molds and apparently they are only good for so many pours so these models may go away soon. I encouraged him to repost on his original thread but have not seen that so I am copying his PM to me here:
Quote: | Hey Hardly
Thanks for relaying the post and the for the review too! I just started making some half hull models, the mold for the full model is spent and has to be cut up. I just made a new mold for making a half hull model of a Angler and cruiser model. I have three more full boats left that I haven’t finished. They are the last ones, if anyone wants a specific motor set up and color now is there chance. They can send me a message through eBay or a private message on here. Glad you’re enjoying the model!
Best Regards
Mark

Quote: | ". . . The models are actually casted from ultra low viscosity urethane plastic resin. It takes 24oz. to cast a boat, motors, and a cradle. I was going for the same impact impression that our real C-Dory boats have on us after we own them for a while. But made it super heavy on purpose to make it not just a model on a stand, but something that is fun to pick up, and look at too. The original model is actually framed out like a real boat, has an interior in it also. That is made from white oak and took me 4 months to build.
This has been a craziest project for my wife and I. It has been teaching us so much about trying to strictly work from home during Covid." |
Mark, you are right about the price of the toys, and I will be able to keep this one much longer than the full size, and with considerably less maintenance cost

Harvey,
Thanks for sharing the information about the models. Might start making some Tom Cats if anyone has detailed line drawings of the boat it can help with a design. (I don't own a Tom Cat so it will be quite difficult to build it as close to scale)
Love the low maintenance and running cost. LMAO! _________________ Mark n' Yuka Elwell |
