I am putting a 2006 Mercury 2 stroke 50hp on a boat that had a Yamaha 2 stroke 2006 70hp
The boat has the Yamaha 704 shifter and the Yamaha key and kill switch assembly #704-8257C-03-00 with the Yamaha 8 pin female plug
I am looking for an adapter plug or pigtail to plug the Yamaha 8 pin female connector into the Mercury 8 pin harness.
If I had Mercury controls and a Yamaha engine, I have found an adapter on the internet that would work
I would guess that if they make a harness adapter to go from the Mercury plug to the Yamaha plug that they would make one that goes the opposite way.
But so far I have not been able to locate one.
Any leads? |

Hey Tex. Andy at Shipyard Marina may be able to give you a part number. He had a lot of good info for me when I was trying to find some digital stuff for the new to me Yamaha's on this boat. They are familiar with both Yamaha and Mercury. Here's their wibsite: https://www.simyamaha.com/

Colby, I already had a call into Andy. I heard back from him and he said that he doesn't know of one. So I went ahead and ordered a new harness.
I bought a 16' Blue Wave Center console for my 16 year old grandson and we are rebuilding it. So far my 123 rule for projects is holding true.
My rule is that for any 1 project, it will cost 2 times what you thought it would and will take 3 times as long. |
