I just heard on World of Boating (a really enjoyable 2-hour radio program... we download it on my iPod to listen to when driving) that Raymarine announced this at the Miami Boat Show: Sirius satellite radio weather on the E-80! I saw a demonstration of this with Garmin and XM... not cheap, but what incredible information - real time weather at your location, on your chartplotter. I don't know prices or specifics yet with the Raymarine/Sirius set up yet, but this may be just the incentive to move me from the C-80 to the E on our 25. Anyone else heard anything about this?
Best wishes,

Not sure of the specifics on the monthly billing, but you need to buy a sirius receiver for the e-80. Its on the Raymarine web site with a suggested retail price of $1000.00! |

Heck, all I do is look out the window for real time weather at my location, and if it's raining I don't even want it on my chart plotter!!!!
Seriously, If Sirius is anything like XM "weather and road conditions for the road warrior", the system isn't yet ready for prime time. Maybe in a year or so, but right now the coverage is pretty spotty.
