I bought this Bertram 28 fly bridge cruiser a couple years ago. Was going to debut at this years FH CBGT but that was cancelled. Having a good time with it.
Video of Alure https://youtu.be/gt0jAwPCE_U
As a result I have decided to sell Checkpoint II a C-Dory 19. See ad in the for sale section...

All Righty then, Nice, and love the name, cool play on words Dwight, Thanks for sharing the video and sorry we missed the debut at FH CBGT. That would have been really fun. And again, stick around here. Always enjoy your posts, and you have great drone talent.
If the border ever opens will you be taking that up to CR and north?
Harvey

Beautiful boat! A friend of mine has one of the older 26' Bertrams. He loves them. Very soft riding boat. Big change for you going from a Cdory to the 24deg. deadrise of the Bertram! Some have been restored and converted to outboards. My friends still has the original straight 6's.
Enjoyed the video, thanks

Bertrams are great boats. I'm familiar with the 26's and 31's. Yours looks outstanding and like a great performer.

Yes to North idea. It has twin Yanmars. I did a electronics sweep done to it last summer. Running all Simrad and putting out AIS signal. Look me up as "Alure" on MarineTraffic. |

Nice turn around. Are you doing the counter throttle turn, or do you have articulated rudders?
AIS, Good move Dwight. You will not regret that. A Lure or Alure?

Harvey on SleepyC -
Rudders centered, one in forward one in reverse. In that turn I bumped both throttles to make it go faster.
Once I equated this type of steering to oars on my rowboat, my close quarter maneuvering got a lot sharper. |

Alure is one sweet boat! Very smooth ride with a huge cockpit. Great pickup Dwight!

Dwight, You are going to love that style of steering in close quarters.
Prefect, Rudders centered and easy on the throttles until you get used to how the boat responds.

Dwight, thanks for sharing text and videos of your beautiful Bertram. I'm glad to hear you're still planning to rendezvous with us whenever we get the OK to crank up group gatherings again. Once a Brat, always a Brat, as far as I'm concerned. That goes for you, too, Peter.
Hey, Dwight, I'll be boating around the San Juans all next week, starting tomorrow morning. Text me if you're out and about with Alure. |

Nice Bertram chromer. That's a very popular brand in my neck of the woods.
I always liked your 19 and remember we messaged a lot when I had my 19. Good luck. _________________ <><><> Jason <><><>
