I was "messing" with my new Garmin SVX and the boat icon is not on the bottom of the display instead of being centered....no where in the manual can I find how to get icon centered. Anyone have any suggestions for me??? _________________ Be safe wear a PFD have fun

Settings to check:
North up or Heading or Course Up
Screen Offset, (or Lead) Full, 1/3, 1/2, 3/4 or some other fraction. This is the position of the screen around the boat.
Not exactly sure, as I run RayMarine not Garmin, and my little Garmin does not have that option. ON the RayMarine, I believe it is in the "Display" and/or "Radar" menus.
Mine is set at 2/3rd fore, 1/3rd aft, which has always seems the most logical to me, for both the radar and the GPS plotter.

I would:
Quote: | Select Settings > System > System Information > Reset.
Select an option:
To reset the device settings to the factory default values, select Reset Default Settings. This restores the default configuration settings, but does not remove saved user data, maps, or software updates. |

Radio Free Sleepy-C right!!? Looks like monitoring two hailing stations and a commercial traffic station. Good idea in a congested area. As a comms nut, miss maria has radio envy of That “bridge” |

Jim, Nigel is right. From left to right (port to stbd) across the top.
ICOM M-605 on VHF 16. Stays on that freq. CG monitoring, and hailing.
RayMarine 218 on VHF 7. Local Commercial traffic. Working Tug and boom.
Standard Horizon GX2150 on VHF 9. Secondary hailing channel.
and I do use a Hand Held, It was on my PFD;
Standard Horizon HX851 turned off but set on VHF 16.
I can only talk on one at a time, but with practice, you can learn to listen to 2.
And, the ICOM has "Last Call Record" function, so it stays on 16 ALWAYS.
Typical usage around home port, (crossing Juan de Fuca), 16 for CG and hailing, 5A or 14 for Vessel Traffic, 22 or 13 for secondary hailing or Bridge to Bridge, depending on traffic situation. Commercial traffic ranges from 6000 feet up to about 1200, and moves at 15 to 25 knots. It's good to keep track and in touch if needed.
