|
|
Hello,
It looks like my refrigerator final died. It's served me plenty of cold refreshing drinks in the past several years!
I looked up a replacement and it looks pretty expensive. I'm considering converting the space into an ice box instead. I use the boat exclusively for fishing and never ran the fridge off the battery.
While I loved having access to refrigeration while in the slip, I'm thinking an ice box may be more cost effective.
Any thoughts or creative options? _________________ True North

A front opening ice box is pretty inefficient. That is what came standard on my first 22. We used it to store bread and other dry goods. A chest type of ice box is far more efficient.
The Norcold NR751BB | 2.7 CU FT 12/24V 120/240V is $ 650--cut out dimensions: 18 1/4" W x 20" H x 20 1/4" D
I use the 12 only Norcold NRF 45 quart chest type on 300# capacity slide out rails under the forward dinette seat (Used the same type on the Tom Cat 255). Cost of these is $660, including freight from Amazon. _________________ Bob Austin

I was thinking like a Yeti 35 or AC adaptable cooler sitting on top of a roll out.
So basically I'd build a roll out drawer and leave it open. |
