Tie 2 stop ties on top, then small bead & large bead, bobber appropriate for weight, bait stop, hook, weight. Set stop ties to fish the depth you want hook to run - only limit is spool capacity.

sliding bobber rig. Been using this for trout and other fish for years. You can run bait or jigs with it. first saw it used at the dam on big bear lake in 91. Use small jiggs to fish the front of the dam to 80 feet. the trout would just nose up to the dam for some reason. You can not fish from the dam or with in 100 feet of the dam. some guys came up with this set up so you can cast right at the dam and the jig would slide down the dam face. Once I learned it I started using it for all sorts of things. good way to keep your bait just above the weeds. Also allows you to slow walk the bait or jig off the bottom back to your spot. Great for small ponds with a lot of bottom growth or rocks. _________________ Thomas J Elliott

Yes - you can use it for a lot of things. I used it from the boat as you did to keep the bait just above grass and sea trout would nail it. |
