Been looking and came across this add-ball. Keep coming back to C-dory’s in my searches, funny how the past repeats itself. Too bad this one lacks a cabin, better suited for Hawaii or the keys. Nice motor setup.

Looks like one of the center console C Dory 22' with some custom features. I agree these belong in Southern waters. _________________ Bob Austin

There is an open console 22 on Juneau craigslist with a 115 horse for $14,000. |

Open console in Juneau makes about as much sense as having one in the Seattle area.
What I found unique on this one is having the Kicker in the middle on a 22, that and 120hp with no added cabin weight the boat should move out! |

A 2017 Center Console? Did not think that current ownership was building such a creature. _________________ Bill & Sherry C-25 sold 2020, next? |

A center console open 22' C-Dory sounds like a swamping waiting to happen. I once had green water breaking over the eyebrow on my 22 Cruiser when I had to cross a 6 foot tugboat wake in glass calm water off Whidbey Island on my way down to Blake Island for a gathering. Just my opinion, but definitely not for me, not even if I lived down Florida ways. If it was built with flotation like a Whaler, maybe... Interesting, though. Definitely a conversation piece.

Joe, I took some green over the windshield of my 20' Stingray cuddy on Lake Erie one day. Think I was either going too fast or not trimmed up enough for the following sea. Stuffed the bow. The "weight" of that coming down on me was a bit of a shock. We survived but it certainly taught me the difference between green and white!!
I have met boaters that think a canvass cover on the front of their bow rider will protect them - from the white maybe, not the green.
Lots of bigger center console boats go out fishing on the ocean though. More freeboard and self bailing hulls probably help.
Regards,

Totally agree. I have had green water to the windshield once, and over the bow several times, mostly a result of wake crossings, but occasionally in big chop too. The time I had green to the windshield, I had white water over the top to the cockpit. That was a real wake up dose.

Down here in the Tropical Tip, a cabin boat like a C-Dory is a rarity. Small fishing boats are almost all of the open type; many like this...
Plenty of those center console boats (similar to the C-Dory in this thread, many considerably larger) here that take on the Gulf and bay waters. |

I have seen a few of the CD Center Consoles around in the PNW. There was one up in the Broughtons, and I believe the same one I saw in Desolation. They were out of Campbell River. Do quit a bit of "cruising" in their boat. I saw another one in Roach Harbor. It was filled with crab pots, and 4 guys and the name indicated it was a tender to, (I am guessing here) a fairly larger vessel. They were headed out to set traps as I was inbound for fuel. Didn't see them again. There is also one that is a bit rougher, used as a working crab boat out of Hansville, WA. I have talked to that owner several times. He likes it because it is more seaworthy than his previous aluminum 25.
