Super video. Well done.
Missed this year but will make our third trip next Sept. Can't bring "Easy Duzit" but will rent a houseboat and bring the dinghy. Cruisers from Key West and our son and his wife from LA will join us. Hope to see some fellow brats then. _________________ I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR - That's what makes the search so exciting! |

Good job Floyd!
I have never been to Lake Powell, but I feel like I just returned from the place. I had no idea the Lake is so big and pretty.
Looked hot though. Don't know if I will ever be able to get Kathy to go on another hot C-Dory adventure after our Nashville Skyline trip down the Cumberland and up the Tennessee Rivers. All we had was a borrowed fan from John & Eileen on Cat O' Mine.
At least Powell did not look humid! _________________ Jim on M/V Pounder

Powell is a dry heat. By the end of Sept. it begins to cook off, and the nights are cooler due to the 3700 foot elevation. As long as you have shade and a breeze, it is pleasant. Running on the lake, provides that breeze. The water is a very pleasant temperature. The best time (in our opinion) is the fall, when the temps are falling, the lake is still warm, and to cool off, you jump in the water.
II feel Powell should be on every C Brat's bucket list--especially if they live in the West. It is one of our favorite places. Although we have an air conditioner, we never used it at Powell. _________________ Bob Austin

What a great video thank you for sharing.
Wondering what you did to keep your food cold for 5 days on the lake? |

Thank you all for feedback, I appreciate it.
Jim, I did fret about the heat before we left remembering the heat on the Rivers but like Dr Bob mentioned it is a very very dry heat. You also get the surface cooling effect on the water so it never got unbearable. But I would like to return to Powell during a cooler time of year. So so much to yet explore.
I did have some trouble with refrigeration during the trip with keeping the battery charged. I am going to have to increase my solar panels up from 80 watts.
I don't know why it took me so many years to get to Lake Powell, if you have never been I would count it as one of the most amazing places I have ever seen. _________________ Floyd & Eiko

What a wonderful video! This is my new go to C-dory fix.
Perfect timing as well as winter sets in and the long warm days of summer are over.
Keep those videos coming! _________________ Sharon |

I, too, have put off LP for a long time. Mostly due to timing issues, but it just wasn't a priority. That video has moved it up the list. Also, not having solar and cooler/ (refridge) capability has been an issue. That is also getting worked out. Lake Powell is looking intriguing.

Beautiful video! Been watching 5 - 10 minutes every few days - just finished!
Thanks for all the effort that went into putting your adventure to video.
