I have a 2009 C Dory 23' Adventure with a 135 HP Honda. The motor is bad after a little over 200 Hours on it. Somehow one of the cylinders cracked. I can either get a long block installed or can buy a new one. Buying a new one is expensive but really like the idea of having a 5 year warranty. Any ideas where I can get the best deal on one? |

Sportcraft in Portland area is worth a call or emIl to get a quote. They did very well for us last winter.

I agree with Greg. We bought our C-Dory from Sportcraft Marina in Portland and they also did the electronics install for us. They have the best technicians and Tim will give you the best advice on what to do. |

One more vote for Sportcraft. And, no sales taxe. Call and talk to Tim or Ryan. _________________ "And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years." - Abraham Lincoln |

Is the blown 135 available for sale after you repower? I'd be interested in it |

Just bought a Honda 100 for my CD-22 from Tom N Jerry's in Mount Vernon. Nothing but good service. My time frame was a bit of a panic, but they made it happen. I'm a loyal customer at this point. |

Steve, one more vote for Mt. Vernon's Tom and Jerry's. They've serviced my Honda 150 at Twin Bridges for a year now, and I have high regard for their mechanics. Hondas are fabulous motors, and It's pretty rare for one to lose its composure in the first inning.

I was very happy with EQ marine in Cornet Bay all the years I lived in Stanwood. If you want a Honda or Tohatsu outboard I would give them a call. _________________ 2007 22 cruiser sold 10/2021

+1 for EQ Marine, since you are looking for a Honda and are located in Stanwood. In the post-Les Lampman days, Kathy and Carl have continued to provide better quality installation, delivery, quicker turnaround, lower labor rates, and friendlier service, compared to the other 4 outboard dealers from Everett north that I've bought new from or had service work performed over the last 10 years. But Sportcraft in Portland sounds equally worth the drive based on everyone's recommendations and the sales tax savings alone. _________________ 22' C-Dory Cruiser (2016)

Count me among the fans of EQ Marine. I bought twin Tohatsu 50s from them this spring, and have been very happy with their pricing and friendly, personal service. They sell Hondas, too. _________________

Thanks for mentioning EQ, you guys. My circumstances have changed in the last two years, but EQ Marine with Kathy, Carl, and Les, when he was there, was my shop choice for years. They took very good care of my boat and motor--from a leaking hatch to a carburetor rebuild to a repower in 2015, they always made sure I rolled away a happy Brat.
If I recall correctly, Andy, I wondered about your repower after we spoke briefly at Sucia last summer. I saw you motor away on one engine the next morning. Good to see that you, Osprey, and the twins are happily exploring once again. |

That was a sad day: turned out my starboard motor had a cracked block. But Cathy gave me a fair trade-in deal on my port motor (the one with the cracked block was basically a paper weight) and a good deal on the new Tohatsus, and Carl did a wonderful job installing them. Their electrical guy, Stan, has also done some fine work for me.
Thanks to the Brats who recommended EQ to me. |

My first choice would be EQ. Cathy and her tech Carl are first rate. Carl has been there for ever and is a great wrench. He did all the installs for EQ when it was a CD dealer. i here tom and jerry are good but i would still go with EQ. DO NOT GO TO Master screw up in Mt vernon. I had hoped their quality would go up after it changed hands but after seeing a resent kicker install on another brats boat just this last month I would not go there unless I got to watch with a bat in my hand. just lazy, slap in on work without thought. We could have lost the brand new kicker in the ocean or the road if we had noticed it was coming off when we did. It was just installed days before leaving. but ask me what I really think. _________________ Thomas J Elliott

I guess the first thing to know is what brand do you want to repower with. that makes a big difference in where you will go . I decided I wanted an E-Tec and I went to Bayside Marine in Everett. I was pleased with the work they did and they actually spent several hours testing different props to get the right one in the water. _________________ Roger on the "SENSEI"
