Charlie-

Thanks for the picture!

This is a good exercise for C-Dory neo-phytes:

If you take an enlarged version of that Dory, cut the fore 60% off, add a transom and a cabin from a Monterey trawler, you'll have the original "Classic" C-Dory 22, showing the origination of the classic's "flat iron" bottom's and hull lines.

See ya' in Seattle!

Joe.

Disgust ..... Sad ..... Idea Smile Hey that's a pretty good description. Good job, Joe. Thumbs Up

Joe I agree.... and if youcut off the fore 60%, add a ramp, new topside and hind end, you've got a AAAV Aka Triple A V (Advanced Amphibious Assault Vehicle....)Shocked

Charlie and the Assault Vehicle-

Nice thought, Charlie! Do you think they's have one of those for sale at the SBS? What's the price tag? Watch out, Pat Anderson's got a real case of two-foot-itis!

I was out sailing with my crew in the Alameda Naval Air Station's harbor area once about 1994 or so (where they also bring the carriers in and the Hornet's now kept as a museum) when they brought in the "Stealth" multipurpose test vehicle that looks like the front end of a F-117a Stealth Bomber, only 250+ feet long

There had been no public disclosure beforehand, but they had towed it out of the "barn' at Redwood City where they built it to test it for radar "invisibility" on S.F. Bay. We immediately knew what the design was all about, just from the looks of it. Looked like something out of the "Star Wars' movie. Not much of a dory, though!!!

Joe.
