Thanks,
I never even noticed, which is surprising considering how often I check in here. Must have been in a hurry or something. Since I'm not moving I guess I'll change it.
I hear you on the proffesional sports Steve. I'm a hands on guy myself, rather be out playing , than spending time watching someone else. But I know many who follow sports big time. Like my father and brother in law, seems like any family get together there is always some kind of game on.
I always joke with them during football games and ask what inning it is.

Is that like when an ostrich sticks its head in the sand and the world disappears?

In 1988 I had surgury on my hands for Carpol Tunnel that made physical therapy a must for the next 9 months. During that 9 months nearly every Monday after a game Steve Largent would show up for therapy on his hands about the time I was leaving. He was always very courteous and just went about his business.
I've also had the chance to interact with Freddy Brown, Bill Russell, and Slick Watts. Of all those I would rather talk with Steve Largent any day. When I was 18 Bill Russell came into the gas station I was working at and had me fill up his Rolls. When I was done he handed me a credit card and then refused to sign the slip as he didn't want to give me his autograph. I couldn't have cared less but he was not going to leave without paying either by signing or paying cash as far as I was concerned(My boss would have taken the cost of the fill up out of my paycheck). Since he was being a jerk I called the cops and they made him sign it! I should have kept the carbon! Unfortunately Bill passed his arrogance off on his kids and they were some of the most mixed up kids I knew growing up. _________________ Gary Johnson

Like I mentioned towards the beginning of this thread, I've not spent much time watching TV sports. So when I was sitting next to and drinking beer in Viet Nam with Don Meredith (Dallas Cowboys and Lipton Tea Commercials), I had no idea who he was other than that he and three other football players were on a goodwill tour to visit the troops. (Can't tell you who the other three were, but I'll always remember the visit with Don). Morale booster to a country boy? Yes! _________________ Dave S.

Hey, Country Boy,
We had Jane Fonda's brother wheel through the province on a motorcycle with a press credential once. Nobody was impressed. Don Meredith or Bob Hope would have been much more appreciated.
