So, let's hear it. What was under the Christmas Tree?
Over to our house, some idiot got a couple of them 4 wheel ATV gizmos for the kids. We'll never have to mow the back yard again. _________________ TyBoo Mike

A Navman 3100 fuel computer, a couple of 12 volt fans to mount on the underside of the electronics shelf and a Timely Stitch C-Brat Daydream teeshirt...and a few other things, but those were the best ones. Now we need David to come up to Birch Bay next weekend and bring his 2" holesaw!...

Got a pressure washer and a Satalite Radio! Woo Hoo! Now I can keep you all awake if I ever show up at another function.
Oh, and I got the first 6 volumes of the Master and Commander series... good reads from what I hear and I look forward to reading them. _________________

I got a MAGMA Grill and waterproof duffel for the Boat among other things.
Mr Fisherman: I have the entire Jack Aubry series as well as a companion volume that explains some of the terms and equipment...very, very addictive series of books.
Best of all, all my kids were in town at the same time and we are having a relaxing and enjoyable Christmas. Hope everyone else has the same. _________________ Salmon Slayer

A beautiful winter day in Sitka and a bunch of wool and silk clothing to enjoy it with. Calm seas, whales, eagles, FISH, deer, smoked salmon, venison, fine wine and good coffee.
What ever you do, don't move to an island in Southeast Alaska, it will mess with your life's priorities! |

Quote: | But where is the radome on the boat? Did you have to sacrifice your radar? |
The original radar quit at the end of 2004. The 2005 replacement is in a pasture eating and pooping, and I am afraid the 2006 model is tearing up the back yard right now.
I am impressed with those ATVs, too. They are the cheap (yeah, sure!) Chinese Honda clones that go for 1/3 the price of the Hondas. The visible finish is amazing, and it remains to be seen how the internal machine work and assembly holds up. But they sure run nice. The kids were holding the starter button in too long, so I told them to flick it like a light switch. The things start every time in no more than a second or two. They have about six hours on them now, and they haven't missed a lick.
Is the sun in the beautiful picture rising or setting? Or is there any difference this time of year up there? |

Well the sun in the picture is setting off the Kona Coast.
Up here this time of year it takes about an hour and half to rise then goes straight into the same length of time setting. It's not as bad as it sounds though because we get an hour or so of twilight on each end. Plus with the snow reflecting the moon/star/northern lights, it's hardly dark at all .
Hey ,maybe you can load the horse in the cockpit and use it like radar. Just see which way he points his ears when he hears another boat. Plus Tiffany might rekindle her interest in fishing. Of course you'll have to add a shovel to your boat equipment. |

Then you could just pitch the crap into Pat and Patty's "Airhead Composting Marine Toilet" _________________ Dave S.

Mike,
Those are spiffy looking machines. I'm guessing that you are already having to stand at the finish line waving a checkered flag. |

I got the Navman 2100 fuel flow meter. A ritchie compass. Various small do dad's. Oh and I bought myself a TR-1 before Christmas because they were having a sale and I was sure "there would never be a sale again so I'd better get it now". Now I just need to install everything. |

I thought I was a GOOD BOY. So about midnight I heard "clatter of little hoofs" . "I tour open the shutters and threw up the sash." There was no "moon on the brest of the new fallen snow." No snow, no moon.
I then checked out in my boat yard. Had Santa delivered my new 25' C-Dory and new tow truck? Same old boat INN-THE-WATER was still under it's winter tarp.
I did not know what to do. Was I a bad boy? I must have been because he left a very large bag of black coal.
Oh well, you get what you need, not what you want. Add the four grand daughters, daughters, son-in-laws, and wife, A great meal, abundance of toys for the girls. (Ever hear of American Girl Doll? If you have, your pocket is not green anymore.) Add an abundance of laughter, and it all adds up to a great Christmas.
As for the bag of Black Coal. After all, we live in New England..
